How can I get pregnant?

How can I get pregnant?

I've been trying to get pregnant and it has become impossible. I've been with my husband for 8 years and have never gotten pregnant. I did a test and my ovaries are fine so I don't understand what's happening? I usually get my periods every 30-35 days. Is there any med that I can take to help me get prego? Please help!

Hi!
Your best bet is a Reproductive Endocrinologist.  Just like all the ladies are saying!
If you were my patient, I would start with some basic hormone levels such as thyroid and prolactin levels.  I would also have you start using ovulation predictors so that I could do a progesterone level to confirm ovulation.  I would want to do a semen analysis and also an HSG ( hysterosalpingogram) to see if your tubes are open or blocked.  Most couples will conceive within 1 year of trying if everything is normal, so you definitely have a problem somewhere!  And very likely it could be fixed!
Good luck!

Has your husband be tested? Perhaps he is the problem.
If not you have to go see a fertility doctor so that you can go through the testing process to see if everything is fine before they can give you meds.
I am on that boat, just went this month and they are testing me and my man.

My husband and I tried for over 2 1/2 years to get pregnant. After the 1st 6 months we went to an RE and they started the testing. I have PCOS so I don't ovulate regularly and upon a semen analysis, my husband's sperm count was very low, and motility was low. He then was reffered to a urologist. He was treated for about a year with meds etc to try to help increase the sperm count, but nothing worked. We were aiming for IUI (intra uterine insemination) because that's all our insurance would cover and we really didn't have the money for IVF. But after his treatment at the  urologist increased, they suggested that the only way to get a fair shot of conceiving was IVF (and that was not an option for us at the time). Docs recommended that we just keep trying the old fashioned way because the IUI wouldn't give us any guarantees because his count was so low. So basically another year went by and our health insurance coverage changed so we decided on IVF. So we started the cylce and we are now expecting twins. So don't lose hope, you have to start somewhere and the RE will do lots of testing to try to help you figure out if there's a problem and if so, they can try to help you if you choose to proceed with fertility treatment. Good luck to you and I wish you future blessings.
