Hpt Test

Hello Dr Elaine,

As I wrote to you before I have taken 2 Merinal injections on the 23rd and 24th of May (LH +FSH) and 1 Choriomon (5000 IU) that contains HCG on the 25th of May. I was told by my Doctor to test today.The first day of my last menstrual cycle was the 14th of May. I immagined to have ovulation (which I get regularly) 2 days after the HCG shot which means around the 27th of May.Is that correct? In this case if I were to test today it would actually be 12 DPO. Is that a good date to check? I live in Saudi Arabia and cannot fnd a Clearblue First Response as you suggested but bought the Clearblue (don't rememebr name, blue pack) that says to test on the first day after your period. So I tried it yesterday(11 dpo) and got a bfn...Does that mean I'm not pregnant or that it may be too early? What level of HCG does this test measure and how much should I have produced at this stage were I pregnant?When do you suggest I check again? Thank you so much!

I would not be discouraged by one negative result.  Many pregnancy tests measure 50 iu of hcg and sometimes it takes awhile for the pregnancy to register.
I recommend testing weekly until either the test is positve or the period arrives.
Since I know no one can wait that long, I would add that if you are going to test sooner, be sure to use a first morning urine specimen because the hormone is most concentrated in that sample.
