IUI and injections

Hi i was just curious if anyone could inform me if you get the hcg trigger shot does that guarentee that your egg(s) are realeased or no?? and if my dr said iui with injections what injections is she referring to?? i hvaent been to my consultation yet...

any help would be helpful!!

Hi!
The trigger HCG tends to help with timing and scheduling.  There are no guarantees about anything, unfortunately.  Your RE may have been referring to the trigger, or she may be talking about stimulating your ovaries with injectable medications.

Sometimes in cases of PCOS that haven't responded well to oral medications, injectable medications can get results.  Injectable medications must be used very carefully because the risks of higher order multiples are greater.  They should only be used by a fertility specialist and/or someone with lots of experience.
