IVF Pregnancy Test 7 days since transfer

I had a day 5 blastocyst transferred a week ago and have had no symptoms of anything.  I have my follow up with my doctor this week but the waiting and not knowing is killing me.  I took a First Response home pregnancy test and it said that I wasn't pregnant.  Could this be a false negative or is it correct?  I don't want to start making a baby blanket and getting all excited about a baby, only for there to not be a baby.

Hi!
The test is a true negative, but that doesn't mean you are not pregnant.  Now let me explain:
Until the embryos implant, they won't produce HCG which is what a pregnancy test is designed to detect. Even blasts take some time to implant--on average about 8-10 days.  That is why eveyone has to wait, and why those darned doctors make you wait so long to do the blood test. There is no way to know what is going to happen before it has had the chance to happen!
Good luck!
I hope it DOES happen!

i have been POAS since 6days past a 5day transfer and have been getting negatives tomorrow I have my beta and I am praying i will get a positive....so there still might be a chance of pregnancy coming.  I was told by my nurse that it takes an average woman 14-21 days post ovulation to have a positive test on a hpt.

I was told by a nurse that we have to wait until a min of 28 days from last period to test..some bodies take longer to produce hormone
