Implantation bleeding

Hi,I am currently part of a fertility programme .It is day five after AIF and I have notice a gooey brown discharge,could this be implantation bleeding,I also have pain in my lower back.Should I be concerned.

Dear Axel123- I'm sorry I do not know exactly what AIF stands for - artificial insemination frozen? Assuming that AIF means that you were inseminated 5 days before you posted your question, most importantly you are not in any danger and do not need to be concerned from that perspective. It is hard to know what to make of the discharge - implantation bleeding may actually be a myth as a recent study (Harville et al, Human Reproduction 2003;18:1944) failed to find any evidence for implantation bleeding. Only time will tell the outcome of the cycle and whether or not you get pregnant. No concern about the discharge, whatever it may be. Are you using any intravaginal progesterone? That might be what is causing the brown gooey discharge if you are.
