Is it time to try something else?

Dear Dr,

I am a 37 year-old female who had a miscarriage 2 years ago. At that time they found 4-5 small fibroids which my RE recommended removing before trying again. I remove them in Nov. 09 and have been trying to concieve (conceive) ever since.  I was on clomid briefly last year and decided to stop for a while because I needed a break. I went back to the same RE in Jan 11 and started clomid again which I have been on for the past 5 months. He does monitor me with 2 blood tests per cycle, one at ovulation and one a week later and an ultrasound at ovulation (always found 3-4 follicles on each side and said my uterus looks good. He said my tubes are not blocked because he checked them after the surgery 2 years ago. The last 2 cycles I was also taking crinone 2 days after ovulation. I went back to him last week and he said the reason the clomid did  not work is because my progesterone is low always between 7 and 14 although my estrogen is high, once at 3000.  He recommends going back on clomid (5 pills a day) and taking prometrium 200 mg 2 days after ovulation. My period is now between day 28 - 35, lasts only one day and is brownish-black.

My question to you is that the ovulation strips which have always detected OV did not detect it this month or last month, did I stop OV'ing?  Should I still take the prometrium?  Is it time to look for another RE? What should I do next??? My clock is ticking and it's keeping me up at night.

Thank you.

One of the fibroids was a polyp hanging in the uterus.
