Ovarian cancer linked to aygestin

I am 52 years old and was taking aygestin for about 4 years. Last fall I was dx w/stage IIIC ovarian cancer. Had a complete hysterectomy and am now cancer free but still on a maintenance chemo treatment x 1 year.  There is absolutely no family hx of cancer of any kind on either side of my family. Could aygestin have been the guilty culprit?

I can't find any good evidence in that reputable literature that links Aygestin with ovarian cancer.  It does prevent uterine cancer.  It is simply a progesterone, and is probably not the culprit.

I'm sorry that you have this diagnosis--but the good news is that the survival rates for ovarian cancer are very good these days. We've come a long way in improving treatments.
