Post-pill amenorrhea/dizzy spells/sudden weigh loss

My wife (34) is very healthy.  After going off the pill (10 years on it) in July she hasn't had her period yet.  The first month when she was suppose to have it she had terrible cramps but no bleeding.  Now it's Oct and still nothing.  That's not my concern.  My concern is the other symptoms she's experiencing.  She has been feeling dizzy for the past month (like on a boat) she also dropped 8 pounds in the last month too.  At 5'10 she was naturally skinny at 128--- she's 120 now.  She also is feeling tired and really 'off' feeling.  Eyes feel funny.  Sinus plugged.  She knows something is wrong with her.  I feel helpless.  She went to the doctor and we are waiting on blood tests.  Could this all be related to the post-pill amanorrhea?

Hi!
I don't think that stopping the pill caused the symptoms.  I DO think that some investigation is in order.  Normally a healthy 34 year old woman would resume her periods within 4-6 weeks after stopping the pill.  Your wife may be too thin to menstruate.
If she were my patient, I would check thyroid levels, prolactin levels, FSH and LH levels.
My guess is that she has hypothalamic amenorrhea OR hyperprolactinemia OR hyperthyroidism as a cause.  Hyperthyroidism is one diagnosis that could explain all symptoms.  If all of these tests were normal, I would consider an MRI or CT scan of the head and sinuses.  I think you should also be working with a general doctor as well as a gynecologist on this one!
Good luck!
I hope she feels better soon!
