Pregnancy symptoms while taking Progesterone and Estrogen

by Kathy421, Oct 08, 2009 12:46PM
Hello -

Question -

I am 5 days post 3dt (Oct 3) of 4 embryos with AH (1st IVF cycle, just turned 42)
I am taking daily progesterone shots as well as vivelle dots (estrogen patches).
If I become BFP, my RE wants me to continue progesterone and estrogen until 10-12 weeks.
Since my hormones will be regulated, does that mean that I won't experience the typical nausea and vomiting of pregnancy which usually occurs in the first trimester?  That would be fantastic!

Hi!
Unfortunately, it would be too good to be true!  We're not sure what causes the symptoms or why some people have a really hard time and others don't have any symptoms at all.  The intensity of the symptoms is related to the peak of the HCG levels though.  So if you do get pregnant, it is probably the HCG and not the estrogen or progesterone that is going to make you sick.  As I mentioned though, not everyone has symptoms, so you might luck out!
Good luck!

Thank you for your response.

I just found out that I am BFP with my first beta of 105.

I hope I continue to have no symptoms, although I know I am very early.
