We give vaginal progesterone, PROMETRIUM 200 MG PER VAGINA THREE TIMES A DAY. There is nothing that I am aware of that has shown progesterone to  be harmful. That's PROGESTERONE,,,,NOT PROGESTINS. At 12 weeks the placenta should take over the production of pregesterone and therefore supplement not needed any further. In the older patient the ovary sometimes has lost its ability to maintain the adequate amount so we supplement. MICRONIZED VAGINAL PROGESTERONE.
