SONO exam&bleeding

by redBlues, Oct 15, 2009 12:39PM
Hi Doc:

I had my SONO exam two days ago to check my tubes .Left side was very painfull.Does that mean my left tube was blocked? The doc. did tell me that it was squezzed ;other than that I did good.I didn't feel any pain on the right side. If it is squeezed, can the SONO exam actually help to open up?

Can the procedure clean, unblock the tube if it's squeezed?
Its' been three days that I had the procedure but still have some mild bleeding. It looks old and dark color blood.I'm concerned about it.Is it normal?I won't see my OB for another 3 weeks.Where does this blood coming from?I hope they did not damage anything .

Thnx

Thnx

Hi!
I could be that your left tube had a partial blockage ( yes, the dye can open it up ) or that it spasmed during the exam.  Either is common.  Studies have shown that fertility is increased during the cycle following this sort of test, so use that information wisely!
It is common to have bleeding from the procedure.  A clamp is placed on the cervix, and that is probably where the bleeding is coming from.  Also, it could be from the lining.  It should stop soon and is no cause for alarm.

Good luck!
