Short Luteal Phase

I've discovered that I now have a short luteal phase. Obviously it has just happened because I was pregnant before. So my question is is this rectifable on my own or do I need to see a Doctor to help lengthen it?

How long have you been trying to get pregnant for? If you have been trying for a year or more (6 months or more if you are older than age 35), then you should see a doctor. If not, the short luteal phase may not mean anything bad. Sometimes the luteal phase is short some months but not others, and other times it has no effect on fertility. In fact, short luteal phase is an uncommon, and debatable, cause for infertility. You are a great example, having been pregnant before.

I would base the need to see a doctor more on how long you have been trying to have another baby, rather than on the length of your luteal phase. The most important thing is that you are ovulating.

Good luck!
