Should I get my blocked tube removed?

Hello!  This is my 1st post.  I have one blocked tube & one open.  I have heard many stories about women getting pregnant with one tube (one had been removed for whatever reason), but not so many with the blocked tube left in.  I have a history of endometriosis & adhesion's.  I have had two surgeries.  I am thinking about getting another surgery to "clean up" & get the bad tube out.  Perhaps that would boost my chance of getting pregnant.  ??

Do you have any stories about blocked tubes you could share with me???

Thanks a bunch!!!

Hi honey,I asked my doctor the same question as i have i good tube and the other was partially removed due to an eptopic.I thought that maybe the good tube would be more effective if the bad one was taken away. But apparently it makes no difference. If you dont have any other reason to then maybe you should just leave it.But its upto you.Hope i was helpful hun xx

Hi!
I'm sure that you will hear from many ladies in this forum!

If you were my patient, I would be tempted to do exactly what you are contemplating doing.  One reason to remove the "bad" tube, is to reduce the risk of ectopic pregnancy.
It doesn't sound like you have had pelvic infection as a cause of your adhesions, but studies also show that IVF pregnancy rates are improved if tubes that are swollen and blocked as a consequence of infection(hydrosalpinx) are removed.

I personally have had some good luck with pregnancies after "cleaning out" endometriosis, although research studies show mixed data as to whether or not it helps.
Hope this information helps!
Good luck!
