Trying still at 40....

My husband and I have been trying for a year, been going to an Infertility doctor for a year... I have thyroid issues and taking med's for it.  
I also have taken 2 cycles of the Gonal F Pen, no history with bad periods, always on time 24-25 day cycle, had tubes check for blockage, tested for menopause and everything was GREAT.. I had no issues.
For both cylces on teh Gonal F, each time I had many ultra sounds to show eggs , they measured and no issues.
I'm still not pregnant..

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would send you for IVF ASAP.  If your test results are still good as you say, then you have a chance if you go NOW.  The reason to try IVF is that the doctors can hyperstimulate your ovaries to produce LOTS of eggs.  At 40, no matter how many eggs you have, a high percentage of them is abnormal.  That is the reason that you need LOTS of eggs to increase the chances that some are normal. Abnormal eggs won't fertilize or if they do, they miscarry.  By age 43, there is very little hope left.  So go now!

I have done a cycle of the HCG drops..... I'm 5 days late ... I have taken 2 test both negative. Everyone else talks about false positve test??   I have never missed a period, infact I'm like clock work, never had issues.
Can I be pregnant and just not know it?
I plan on waiting 3 days and test again... to make sure there is NO HCG drops in my system.
Please help.
