Ultrasound results

I have PCOS, and have been having pain in my right side, i have to wait until the end of this month before i can see the OB, but my PCP went ahead and sent me to me for an ultrasound.  The results stated, Uterine size is mildy prominent at 4x5x11 cm.  Myometrial echotexture is homogeneous.  Endometrial thickness is mildy prominent at 1.5 cm larger than 6 mm thick on 5/6/08.  No enometrial fluid noted. Ovaries remain normal, righ 22x30x33 mm, left 16x26x29 mm.  A few subcentimeter follicles project at the right ovary.  Minute trace of fluid noted in the col-de-sac at one end of normal range.
Can someone please tell me what this means?

HI!
Your ultrasound results are fine.  Your ovaries look excellent and normal.  If you were my patient, I would question you about your cycles. I would want to know how long it has been since you had a period, and how regular they are.  It is important to have a period at least every three months or so.  IF you are both over 35, and have not had a period in quite some time, I might consider an endometrial biopsy.  Otherwise I might consider prescribing some progesterone for you to "clean" the lining.

The only other thing of note on your ultrasound, is that your uterus is a bit large.  A common reason for that is adenomyosis, which could theoretically cause pain.

If you were my patient, I would also question you for symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, because  I don't really think your ultrasound shows the reason for your discomfort.

Good luck!
