What could be wrong as my wife has ovulation but not conceiving

Me n my wife has been trying for a baby for more than one year. She was not ovulating and doctor gave medicine "metafage" and she started ovulating last 4 months. But still we have no result. I met a new doctor and he is suggesting laproscopy tests. Do we need to try some more time to get success? Laproscopy tests are safe for her inner organs? Will it reduce chances of normal preganency in future? Please adise..

I would not recommend laparoscopy yet. First, after only four months of ovulation, you just may not have tried long enough yet. But before going to laparoscopy, you should have a sperm count, and an x-ray test called a hysterosalpingogram to see if your wife's fallopian tubes are open. If these tests have already been done and are normal, then I would continue to try for a few more months, and if still not pregnant consider adding some fertility drugs and intrauterine insemination.

Hi. We've been trying to conceive for 5years, I was ovulating some mths but not others,they put me on the fertility drug clomid to help with ovulation problem,blood tests with clomid proved I'd ovulated but we haven't had any luck yet either. I had a laproscopy investigation in january last year, I was put under general anesthetic and a tiny laproscope was put in through two small incisions, I was informed of possible risk to other organs but they have to tell you to protect themselves, I think the risks are unlikely and they carry out the lap n dye tests frequently. It does help because they checked for cysts,fibroid's  and endometriosis and thankfully my results were fine so we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility, and now we have moved on with treatment and we are going for an appointment on Monday to discuss iui/ivf treatments.
They say with the laproscopy investigation,after the procedure it often encourages conception. Hope this information has helped. Good luck,clomidkid x
