Hi dr brown
Thanks for your previous advice, we have spoken to my fertility consultant about our concerns with the bleeding, he remarked that because clamps were inserted into the cervix that bleeding was expected. He explaied that this had to be done to acces the uterus more easily as it was naturally tilted. Could this procedure explain bleeding over the next few hours, there had been more blood the next afternoon but this appeared to be dark in colour and possibly old blood.
The doctor did experience some problems during transfer, saying he had difficulty removing a clip to the embriologist, he then passed back the catheter to him to hold whilst fixing the problem, the consultant then asked the embriologist to guide the catheter tube into place for him, embriologist then asked the consultant if he wanted him to to inject the embyos, he replied he could manage, procedure over, no ultra sound used for guidance and i had emptied my bladder less than thirty minutes before. I hope everything went normally but i am worried about that previous point, we asked the consultant about it afterwards and he said it was nothing to worry about.
Hi!
I agree that you should call and inform your RE. Cramping after transfer is quite common. Some bleeding can occur too, but any amount more than spotting should warrant a call to the doctor for instructions.
Good luck!
Dr B
I would say that is not at all a good sign. I know with IVF, there ca be cramping, but have never heard that it is normal to have moderate bleeding. I would suggest you should call the doc straigt away. GL
