can i be infertile??

I'm 30yrs of age and about to start the journey of trying to have a baby. However i'm extermely worried and anxious that i am infertile. i contracted clamydia (chlamydia) 10 years ago, i think i had it for a year before i was diagnosed and treated. The clamydia (chlamydia) was treated sucessfully back then and i have'nt had any problems since. However since we have decided to try for a baby i have been doing some research on fertility etc. Several times i have seen that woman have had pelvic inflammatory disease as a result of clamydia (chlamydia) but never knew they had it , and as a result are now having problems trying to concieve (conceive). Can i have PID and as a result infertile? or am i totally stressing myself out over nothing? thank you for your help.

If you were my patient, I would advise you that there are two approaches we could take.
The first would be to be optimistic that your tubes are open and fine, and to try for awhile to have a baby.  If no results within six months or so, then we could start testing.
The other option would be to go ahead with an hsg test ( a dye study of your tubes ).
I consider repeating a test for chlamydia, or chlamydial antibodies, or a sedimentation rate prior to the test and would most likely prophylax with antibiotics before during and after the study to be on the safe side.
