If I read you correctly, you have had irregular periods for 7 years. Whether you want to get pregnant or not, you must be regular or under the care of a physcian not to have periods. You may be ovulating every now and then and certainly when you ovulate you can get pregnant. But you have to be REGULAR. This is in regard to your own personal health and my advice would be to see a physician and have them regulate your cycles in an ovulatory fashion, thus you will get pregnant and be regular.
Hope this helps,
JM
