chance for getting pregnant?

chance for getting pregnant?

Hi I have polycystic ovaries and don't seem to ovulate naturally. (i am thin and my insulin is fine) This cycle for the first time, I took 100mg of Ikaclomin for day's 5-9. I am now on cycle day 15. I was at the Dr this morning and he did an ultrasound and a blood test. He said that I only had one developed/developing follicle that was 14cm (on the left side), and that my cervical opening was only 4cm. He told me to come in for the Ovitrelle shot on Friday and to have intercourse on Saturday and Sunday. Do you think I still have a chance to get pregnant? I thought it seemed strange that he told me to go ahead with the shot when it seems like my follicles are not develped all the way and my cervix is closed. I will definitely do what he says, but I'm worried about whether it will work for me. I wonder if he is rushing it because he is leaving to go on vacation and won't be there to check me anyways. (today is his last day before his vacation)
Also, we did a sperm analysis and my husband's sperm came back great. Is it better if we have intercourse twice a day or more? Or do the sperm need to build up?
Thank you for your help! I REALLY want to get pregnant!!

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would probably re-ultrasound before admistering the "trigger shot".  I would want to know what was going on with that 14mm folicle.  I would like to see it increase in size to 18-20mm.  Also, I hope your doctor plans to check a progesterone level about 7 days after ovulation.  If the follicle matured, and you did ovulate, you should either get pregnant, or have your period by cycle day 31--if you don't have either one, you should definitely re-think the plan for the next cycle.

For maximal success, we recommend intercourse daily or every other day.  It is actually possible to deplete the sperm by having intercourse too frequently--so don't over-do it!

Good luck!

i am 28yrs old, me and my husband have been trying naturally for 2 yrs to get pregnant.  I have PCOS, we went for fertlity tests.  Hubbie sperm count is fine, i was found not to ovulate, level was 1.  Started on clomide 50mg on 17th August, had scan on day 12 and was told on left ovary their was one follicule that was bigger that could be dominat, but others not that good!! last week getting cramps in abdomen, increased frequency to wee, cervix high hard and slightly open.  Also visible blue veins in brests, due period today (28day cycle) nothing as yet.  Do you think i could be pregnant, or just getting my hopes up too much?
