clomid and trying to get pregnant!

by brittany smithson, May 17, 2007 12:00AM
Ok, I am 22 years old and me and my husband are trying to have our second child. Our son is 4 he was unplanned (he is my world and I thank God for him) and I was in high school, but I got pregnant with no problem. Now that we are ready and this is what we want nothing is happening.I am on my 5th round of clomid 50mg on days 5-9, I did'nt have a period for like 4 years I had blamed it on the depo shot, but I only took like 3 shots and then stopped along with thyroid problems which are now under control (graves diease). I have had an ultra sound done to make sure everything is ok with me and my husband's sperm was normal. The first time on clomid I did not ovulate, but after that I have been the first time it was 21.9, then 17.1 and this last time it was 24. My question is what else can we do to make our chances higher at getting pregnant. My ob is giving me 3 months then if still nothing I am having the test done to see if your tubes are blocked or not. I hope I am pregnant by then!!!

First, the saying might fit, you can bleed BUT NOT ovulate, but if you ovulate you are going to bleed. How do you know the cycles of 21, 17 and 24 were ovulatory. Seems a little erradic and short to be ovulatory cycles. Did you do a sonogram, check an LH or Progesterone. I would work on securing that you are ovulating, the HSG test to check your tubes isn't alot of fun or cheap.
Hope this helps,
JM

I forgot to add to even have a period I had to take provera just 1 time. Also the ultra sound that I had done showed I had a dime sized cyst on one ovary but my ob told me it was nothing to worry about. I am concerned about it becasue my mom has had alot of problems with tumors.

As I above posted I have my progesterone level drawn every month, and YES i am ovulating. I even gave what the level was in my post. And I know the test is not fun or cheap, but since I KNOW I am ovulating and nothing is happening that is our next option.
