cord question

Hi,
I wrote a few days ago about the fact that my baby died at 19 weeks with the cord tightly wrapped around his neck which resulted in his death.
My OB is telling me just how rare this is...but I was wondering if you had any numbers/statistics on the chance of this happening again.  I want to get pregnant again but I'm so scared of something like this happening again.
What do you think?
You mentioned earlier getting as ASP test done....that all came back negative..plus, I was on baby aspirin this pregnancy.
Thank you

Hi - it is so rare that I cannot even quote a statistic. The chance of having a miscarriage for ANY reason, after the first trimester (13 weeks) is only around 2%-3%. Of those 2%-3%, I'll estimate that at most 5%010% are because of cord accidents. Just looking at statistics, it is really really unlikely that, once you get past 13 weeks, something like this would happen again.
