Hi everyone.  I had my embryo transfer 2 days ago (28.09.09) (egg collection was 25.09.09) and im now experiencing period type pains and im worried that my period is on its way.  Are these pains normal?  Also when would the embryo be expected to implant into the womb?

Thank u xxxx

Hi!
Cramping is VERY common after transfer.  It doesn't mean that you are about to have your period, it simply is your uterus's response to the irritation of the catheter that was used to insert the embryo(s).  The embryos should implant within about 10 days.  And, yes, as deelightfuldee mentions, it can be normal to have some spotting.
I wish you the best of luck!

I'm not an expert, but I did go through a successful ivf cycle. In the early days before I did my pregnancy test after the ET I also experienced cramping and even some bleeding. Obviously I was concerned, but the doctor said that these things sometimes happen in some women when implantation is taking place. A few days later I took the pregnany test and it was positive. Unfortunately I ended up miscarrying in my 5th month, but the point I'm trying to make is be positive. Cramping could be a good thing.  Good luck!!

hi...my egg retrieval was last monday oct 12 and my embryo transfer last wed oct 14 so it is just 3 days since my et. i also experienced cramping like last night i fell asleep with pain. i produced 7 eggs they are all healthy but only 4 were fertilized because of my husband low sperm count and only 1 % morphology. our embryologist said were lucky to have 4 embryo. so they transferred the 4 embryo to me, it was on day-2 of the embryo, i had 2 egg with 2 cell and the other 2 just starting to divide yet...we don't have any embryos to freeze. anyway it is a good thing that my doc doesnt gave me to much amount of puregon to inject because she said we wanted quality eggs. In the end it will be useless because even i produced many quality eggs it's the same because of my husband sperm cannot fertilized it. I am hoping it will be successful....

are there anyone there with the same et at day-2 and only 2 cell that become successful?
