Hi!
Its unlikely that you are pregnant, but I ALWAYS recommend a pregnancy test anyway!
If you were my patient, and had no risk factors for endometrial cancer ( obesity, diabetes, PCOS, family history) I would probably prescribe a pack of birth control pills to get the bleeding under control.  I usually have my patients take two to three per day until the bleeding stops and then one per day to finish TWO packs.  After that, I would discontinue the pills and wait and see what happened.  Its probably just a minor "blip" in your hormone levels that happened for some reason--Stress?
Good luck!
