hcg pregnancy levels

Help! I had IVF transfer done on May 7  from a frozen embryo so I did not stimulate and use medications that would increase your hcg level...then May 11 my hcg was 9 ...then may 14 my hcg was less than 1......i have two questions first is there any way i can be still be pregnant or become pregnant cus my doc insists i continue to take my meds until today...second, if implantation did occur (it was a well graded embryo) could it be that I overworked myself physically and lost that implantation...I take care of twins less than 2 yrs old...thanks

Hi!  I'm sorry that the levels dropped like that! I'm not completely sure why your doctor continued your medications in the face of a very low hcg, unless he/she thought there was some possibility of lab error. or of things turining around for the better.  I doubt that over work was the cause, although most IVF clinics do recommend decreased activity after transfer, and two year old twins are definitely not decreased activity!!!

You may want to consider the addition of accupuncture to your regimen if you try again.  Would your RE consider transferring more than one embryo?  Have you considered transferring blasts or 5 day embryos?  Also, get someone or some"two" to help you with those little ones next time around--they may not have harmed anything, but they didn't do you any good either!

Good luck!
