i dont have a period. whats wrong with me?

i dont have a period. whats wrong with me?

i got pregnant at 15 with pretty regular cycles prior to the pregnancy. my parents made me abort.. my period didnt come back for 9 months! 2 months later i got pregnant again at 16. and my parents made me abort AGAIN. on the day of the abortion my dr got me on nuva ring and she said i could loop it to not have a period if i desired, so i did cuz who LIKES having a period? so i did that for 1 yearr and 2 months. i took nuva ring out 3 days before my senior prom and i didnt get a period july (2 months after i took nuva out) and did not have another period until may of the next year!! so it was now 2009 and i had a period in may and july and i didnt not have a normal period since then! i have had none other than the one this july of 2010 enduced my provera. my thyroid is normal my hormones are normal my pelvic exam was normal... everything was normal! the doctor said they could not find one medical thing wrong with me... my fiance and i have been trying to convieve for almost 2 years now. about a week ago my mother in law said i have a "special glow" going on and that she could tell that she thinks im pregnant. i HAVE felt a strange sensation in my lower abdomen... all the times that i thought i was pregnant, my mind played games with me because i wanted a baby so bad and i would feel stuff in my actual stomach... the only think i feel there now is nausea... but my lower abdomen... like below the belt buckel just feels strange. and its been that way for days now..

i think maybe it has something to do with weight gain. i have gained probably 30-40 lbs in the last 3 years from depression from my parents taking my children away from me and from school stress... weve been dieting though so its slowly shedding back off... but its hard being this depressed about all those previous pregnancy tests always being negitive :'(

Hi!
I think you are on the right track when you mention your weight gain.  Often gaining just that much weight is enough to throw your cycles off track.  Dieting and exercise to shed the pounds is a very good idea.
If you were my patient, I might consider starting you on Metformin to see if that could help with ovulation AND weight loss.  If not, the next step would be to add Femara or Clomid.
If you were ovulating but still not having a period, I would then consider an HSG.  This is a special dye study that can look at the shape of the uterine cavity and determine whether the fallopian tubes are open or blocked.
I hope some of this information is useful!
Good luck!
Dr B

What can you do to unblock your Fallopian tubes? Me and my husband have been trying to have a baby for almost 2 years now! What can we do to get our little family going?
