increased fertility after labor

Is it scientifically true that fertility is increased for some time after labor? If so,for how long? Is it the same when you just had a pre-term labor(at 5 months,due to amnio?)When is the best time to try again?

I am not aware of an increase in chances to get pregnant after labor. In fact breast feeding is often a natural contraceptive. I believe the key is regular cycles. One may be more regular after a pregnacy or I would suggest waiting to get regular as you can then appropriatley try to time when ovulation occurs and pursue timed intercourse.
