i am going to ask my obgyn about clomid this month. i have irregular periods, and ive been with the same partner for 5 years. i got pregnant once but had a miscarriage after like 2-3 months. i have irregular periods sometimes i wont get my period for 2 months.my question is does my partner need to get tested for infertility before i start taking clomid even though i got pregnanat by him once before? another uestion that i have is that by him taking anti-depressents have an effect on me getting pregnant? he is currently takin klonopin and citralopem.

All good questions. If you are under age 35, I would start things off by going on clomid and if the clomid regulates your periods and causes you to ovulate more regularly give the clomid 3-4 months. If you are not pregnant after four regular ovulations on clomid, then have your partner get a semenanalysis and even think then about a hysterosalpingogram to check your fallopian tubes. There is nothing wrong with doing a sperm count and a hysterosalpingogram right of the bat, but I am not sure this will be necessary.

For sure have your partner tested. His situation could have changed and the meds could absolutely affect his fertility. At the very least, you'll be able to eliminate one possible factor.
