I quit my birth control in December. I had a normal cycle February10 & March 6. since then I have had no cycle. it has been 51 days I think. I'm currently trying to conceive. and I don't know if this is stopping me. my cycles have always been regular even without birth control. I have two kids already. I have a couple of questions.
1. can I still get pregnant?
2. am I still ovulating?
3. when will I ovulate?
4. is it normal for me coming off of birth control to skip a month without a cycle?
5. can I still ovulate and get pregnant even though I missed this cycle?.
I don't know what to do. please give me as much advice as you can. thank you in advance..
Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that often it can take up to three months for periods to become regular after stopping birth control. If the periods are still irregular beyond the three month mark, I would start a work up. It is fairly easy to induce ovulation with "mild" fertility drugs. If your periods are irregular, you are probably NOT ovulating regularly and it will take longer to conceive. Good luck! Dr B
