prometrium intake

I've been doing some research on prometrium . I was prescribed prometrium since the month of Feb. In Feb.,I ovulated with the help of clomid and prometrium. My progesterone levels were 34. In March my cycle never came and I contacted my Dr on Apr. 9 letting her know I never had my cycle. She schedule me to take some test to take . On 14 my cycle visited and was very weird . her instructions for the prometrium is to take on cycle day 16 and continue to take until a cycle comes. I stopped taking the prometrium th week before I called her. On th 23, I was told that I didn't ovulated at all. Could you explain your intake on the prometrium process to me so I could have a better understanding how it works. Thank you.

Prometrium is progesterone, and therefore if you are taking prometrium, a progesterone test will read positive. Were you taking the prometrium in your vagina or by mouth? Progesterone levels of 34 (if you are in the US) are a little high to come just from prometrium alone so I would have thought you had ovulated also. In Canada and Europle, the units used are different and a progesterone of 34 could be due entirely to the prometrium if you are writing from those countries. Prometrium will also delay your period sometimes, even when you are not pregnant. When I put patients on prometrium, I recommend a pregnancy test on day 32 or 33, and if the test is negative I suggest stopping the prometrium since the long periods can be a bit misleading.
