My GP has refered my dh and I to see a fertility clinic next week, i have be diagnosed during a scan for fibriods as having a 4cm fibriod and possible PCOS and my dh was also diagnosed as having low sperm motility, i have been reading up on information about this and from what i can gather IVF seems to be the only option,IUI which is another option has been said to not work in cases where there is low sperm motility.... is this true?  Please help

Hi!
There are always options!  We very often use IUI for low sperm count and also for poor motility male factor.  There are also potentially some treatments that could improve the count and motility. ( I have seen clomid used in men too!).  It depends upon finances and your time frame.  If you want to have a baby ASAP and money is no object, then your best bet is IVF with ICSI (intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection).  The reason I believe this is true is because you are dealing with "mixed" infertility--both male and female.
If you have some time on your hands, and would like to save money if possible, you could try ovulation induction and IUI--that is provided that your tubes are healthy.  If you have tubal factor too--go to IVF!
Good luck!
