ttc for 2yrs, and feeling helpless

My husband and I were both tested awhile ago and we are both healthy. Everything is normal. I'm 27 and my Husband is 29. I was told that there shouldn't be any issues and I tried to tell my doctor from the beginning that I think something is wrong and he just kept on saying that most couples take a year to get pregnant. It's 2 yrs now, and he just finally decided to refer me to a gyno but the earliest appt available is in another 6 months. I just feel so let down. He can't figure out what is wrong and after trying to self diagnose myself I think I may have an idea but I don't know...I'm frustrated and starting to get depressed, but I'm just now starting to feel symptoms of being pregnant this month, but also feel symptoms of getting my period.

My thoughts all kind of start back to when I was 14 and first got my period. I had such horrible symptoms that I had to go on birth control when I was 16, and it did help a lot. I would get horrible cramps where my legs and mid section felt like all the blood was draining from them and kind of this immense heat feeling, feel feverish, and I would puke and get diarrhea, and it would last for a couple days.

I heard somewhere about how that there is a hormone, or something in your body or uterus that when the egg is trying to implant it tries to kill it or reject it. That you can get a shot to stop that from happening...Or I was wondering that the amount of stress and pain my uterus goes through when getting the old painful period symptoms, that those can be the reason why the egg isn't implanting?

Hi!
The first thing I have to say is--do a pregnancy test!  Then, if that is negative, you can go from there.
If you were my patient, I would ask you to start with ovulation predictors.  You can buy these over the counter just like pregnancy tests.  Test on cycle days 11-16.  Cycle day one is the first day of your period.
It will be important to keep track of results--especially if you are not ovulating!
The other thing you can do on your own, is get your husband tested.  He needs to do a semen analysis--no appointment needed for that one.
Then, the next thing I would do for you once you get your appointment is an HSG (hysterosalpingogram) to be sure your tubes are not blocked.
Those are the basic tests.  Most of the time one of these tests will uncover the problem, and then the solution becomes clear.
Make sure that the doctor you see is a fertility specialist, or you may have to wait another 6-12 months!
Good luck!

Continued...

So now, I started feeling my breasts getting tender and my period hasn't come yet. So I decided that once/if I started getting those period symptoms again I would take Advil or Excedrin, to stop the period pain from coming. And by doing that my body is feeling like it's struggling. Like I am still having the pregnancy symptoms but then the period symptoms are creeping in. I wasn't really spotting until yesterday and now it's a little bit more then spotting sometimes. I'm starting to feel the stomach/leg burning and cramping crop up but then I take some Excedrin to get rid of it. But am I wrong to think that it could be the stress of the period symptoms that are getting in the way of the egg implanting? I just want to try everything I can on my end.

Please help!
