when does AF arrive if Clomid wouldn't work

Hi doc:

I 'd like to know how long it takes period  to arrive IF Clomid wouldn't work for one.

We know that techinaclly menstruation arrives after 14-15 days of Ovulation if one is not taking any med.

does it work the same if one is on Clomid or does it take longer/shorter if on Clomid?

IF you ovulate for ANY reason--Clomid or otherwise, menstruation arrives almost exactly 14 days later.  If you don't ovulate it can be very unpredictable.  I usually have my patients call me if they haven't had a period by cycle day 30 or 31, then I get the ball rolling with Prometrium--natural progesterone.  I like Prometrium because if the patient is actually pregnant (oops!) Prometrium is good for the pregnancy--possibly helps reduce miscarriage risk.  If she is not pregnant, it starts the next period so that we can try again with a different dosage or a different medication.
