Anxiety

I just had an IUI for the very first time last Firady. I have never felt so much anxiety. Has anyone ever had luck with an IUI on the first try? I am 39 years old with high FSH levels. I had 2 good eggs and 1 okay egg. My lining is good and the husbands sperm is GREAT !!!

Thanks

Okay. I woke up this morning with brown discharge. I am not sure if it is due to my period or if it could be implantation. Is it too late in the game for implantation bleeding?

yeah, you need to relax!  Everyone is different - some people have NO symptoms whatsoever!  I'm sure I'll be obsessing the exact same way in a couple of weeks - I know it's hard.... we all do it!

Plus, it's still REALLY early!  Take a deep breath.... the 2ww will be over soon enough! :o)

I have had tender breast, a little nausea and been a light sleeper. But, not as to the extreme as you. Could this be a bad sign for me? I feel like I am obsessing over this. I need to stop.

Okay, not to sound stupid but what does dpiui mean? All this crazy lingo. My breast are tender but could be premenstral. I don't know. I just wish next Friday was here. By the way, this is a great website. It is nice to know many other people have the same issues and are going through the same thing.

No, I didn't know about the scar tissue inside my uterus with the first IUI.  I have been pregnant 2x now, and the things that stood out to me most was that I would get what I like to call "nipple burn" and I have weird dreams.  The nipple burn was a tip off because the first time I experienced it was after the trigger shots.  It basically feels like you just got dragged across the pavement topless, but it can happen when you're not even moving around.

I don't know - everyone is SOOOO different and has so many different symptoms.  But that's soemthing I noticed both times as well as with the trigger shots.

I still have my 2ww log from my IUI, so I'll post it to give you something to read.  Like I said though, everyone is different but I really hope this works for you!!

2 dpiui - hyperstimulated  (bloated and uncomfortable), breasts hurt VERY bad

3 dpiui - started prometrium, hyperstimulated, breasts hurt VERY bad

4 dpiui - felt nauseous  when up in the middle of the night , had insomnia, hyperstimulated, breasts hurt VERY bad

5 dpiui - got nauseous while out shopping - had to hurry home but was fine by the time I got home, hyperstimulation starting to feel a TINY bit better, breasts hurt VERY bad

6 dpiui - bad heartburn/reflux (unusual for me), hyperstimulation very uncomfortable today, breasts tender but milder than before

7dpiui -  feeling better physically, but a little emotionally unstable.  Boobs are pointy? and much bigger! Happened overnight! Having real cramps - not pain from hyperstim - continued all night

8 dpiui -  pretty good throughout the day but cramps came back a little tonight - also had some "funky pains" - not quite stabbing, but painful.  Cramps not quite as bad as last night.  Boobs are still large and tonight REALLY started hurting again like they did after the trigger shot

Got some pains at bedtime centered and on right side of uterus (def. not ovaries or reg. cramps).  Couldn't sleep

9 dpiui - Last night - bad dream - couldn't sleep.  regular cramps starting around 4pm.  So far breasts are still big, but only tender when pressed (no nipple burn yet). Ate a salad and shortly after got dizzy and nauseous.  Felt better after a couple hours

10 dpiui - definitely some af cramps… I think it’s comin

11 dpiui - got really bad cramps and started really pms'ing, feeling like af was coming.  Started crying and progressively felt more and more out of control like something hit me with a ton of bricks - also had weird pains that almost felt like coming from left fallopian tube.  Took two tylenol which did not take away pain - had lower back pain and couldn't get comfy.  Couldn’t sleep.  Smell definitely sensitive.

12 dpiui - woke up this morning to one of my "imaginary lines" - David says he saw it too!  Could it be? nipple burn is back!

13 dpiui - beta was 9.0!!!   It's very early so I go back Monday to retest.  didn't sleep well.  boobs not very tender.  some cramps.  Smell thing still happening.

14 dpiui - started spotting around 3:30pm.  Having cramps too.  Felt queazy before bed.  Fri night I woke up at 5am, was up til 8:30ish, slept til 10:30 and couldn't nap all day.   Breasts not too tender

15 dpiui - Finally a BFP on my FRER this am.  Very light - but there.  Still spotting, bled some overnight, but nothing when I wiped first thing this morning.  Crampy and spotting mostly brown now.  Slept 12:30-6:30 but was able to nap from 10:30am-1:30pm.  Breasts not very tender.  Smell thing definitely happening still.  Tried to have just a quarter cup of coffee - took 3 sips and was nauseous - couldn't drink it.

You did not know about the issues before you went through with the IUI. I have never been pregnant so I have no idea what to expect. Should I be having symptoms yet? Only been 1 week.

I didnt get pregnant on my first IUI as I was anxious and excited nad didnt follow proper directions, LOL but I did get pregnant on my 2nd IUI and I was 8-weeks when I had miscarried just as a bad egg was fertilized and was told it was a chromoseme abnormality. So after a few months of rest I had my 3 IUI today so we are hoping for a miracle and pray I get my BFP in a few weeks.. I am not as anxious as I should be I just dont want to get my hopes up and be disappointed again. ALT6 is right try and stay calm which is hard but do what you can ;)

I got pregnant on my first IUI!  It didn't stick for more than three days, BUT that is because we just found out that I had a web of scar tissue lining the inside of my uterus - a condition that is EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY rare and I'm sure you don't have.  They think that's why it didn't stick - so if I didn't have that I'd probably have a healthy baby by now!   So it is VERY possible - and I also remember posting the same question when I did mine and got plenty of whole hearted yeses with full term, healthy pregnancies!

Best of luck to you!  Try to stay calm - I know it's tough, but it's the best thing you can do!

welcome! i think that a lot of people have luck on the first time.. however sometimes it takes a bit of adjusting to meds to get everything working just perfect - we got preg on our 3rd try of IUI.. then mc, and its worked a couple of times more since then as well (and we have a TON of issues)!   Good luck, i hope this is your last tww for a long long time and you'll have your BFP on your hands within the week! : )
