Birth Control Help????

Hi Ladies. OK right now I am on Depo Pervera. I got my first shot in Oct 06. I started bleeding in November, then got my second shot in Dec. My doctor told me the bleeding should stop but it has not. My third shot is due on the 16 of this month. Needless to say I am not getting it. I want to try a different form of birth control, not Mirena, it did the same thing to me. I would like something that increases my sex drive and has low side effects. Can someone please recomend a birth control that I would fall in love with. Even websites would be helpful. Thank You.

I did the Depo shot for a year and continuously had problems with it.  Looking back, I wish I'd gotten away from that thing right away.  I also had no sex drive while I was on too...probably because I was constantly spotting and self concious of it.  Of all the BC I ever tried, I liked Othro Tri-Cyclen the best but like someone else said...it really needs to be discussed with your Dr.

i agree with peekawho it should be tween you and your doc but i found that the BC patch worked best with me and i think it would be worth mentioning to your doc and seeing what he/she has to say about it... as far as increased sex drive goes i found that after the first week with me i couldn't get enough of my boyfriend i mean i would wake him up in the middle of the night just to make love to him..

This should really be a discussion between you and your doctor.

What works well for one woman may not be right for you.  Believe it or not, doctors don't just spin a roulette wheel in helping choose the right kind of BC for you.  They will ask you about your lifestyle, your comfort level with your body, what you are specifically looking for, and your medical history/body type.

Best of luck.
