Calling All Women of Strength!!!

A Strong Woman VS. A Woman Of Strength

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape…
But a woman of strength builds relationships to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything…
But a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the better of her…
But a woman of strength gives the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future…
A woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be unexpected blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman wears a look of confidence on her face…
But a woman of strength wears grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey…
But a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Good evening, ladies!  I have an update from Luvkayln.  She's in the hospital & as of 1 hour and 15 minutes ago, she was 2 cm dilated, 50 % effaced.  Her doctor expects Addy's birth by 6 a.m.!  She was on her way to the hospital & will spend the night there so she will definitely be there for Addy's birth! =)  She'll be checked again in an hour.  I'll update with any new information!

Hi Keyan,

I am on CD 6, I chart my temp and other secondary ovulation signs. I do use the chart here, but I find the one on fertility Friend a bit easier to use (but its not as pretty) I also visit my baby doctor guru from CD a couple of time from CD7 thru to about 12 and have a scan to check out the follicles, and then I take an ovulation trigger when he tells me to and 36-40 hours later I supposedly ovulate. My levels are low, so at first he wasn't sure if I was ovulating (those OPKs never work for me, you need a PhD just to figure them out!) but since I've been taking the follicle stimulating injections (we call them Puregon here and the trigger and follow ups are called Pregnyl) my cycle has been extremely regular 28 to 27 days, I've never ever had that, so the guru says that I must be ovulating...

mommyin10-  That sounds like such a great idea.  A celebration party except you are giving it yourself and that is a lot of work.  I hope you get lots of help.  I haven't even really thought about registering yet.  I figured after Christmas we would go to Babies R Us and Walmart.  As for your uterus I think they are givng you cm measurements (that's centimeters, not cervical mucus, LOL)  So I am guess that yours is 2CM which makes mine 3.2CM (same as 32mm).  That's why you are on bedrest and they are just still watching mine.  Mine went from 58mm to 32mm in 4 weeks time.  I can't really sustain that much lose in that amoun of time for too long.  I hope both of them STOP shrinking and babies STAY PUT!  I am anxiously waiting your new pictures and new measurments.  At least I know what to expect when mine gets low like yours.  I hope it stops for you though.  I really really do.  It's very scary to me.

XOXO

thank you ladies for the pic comments.  Jaedyn is growing up so fast.

yeah Mommyin10- I would suugest getting bottles too because even with one baby i was exhausted with only pumping part time, forget about full time.  Its worth it though to give them a good amount of nutrients and anti-bodies in the breast milk but i did put jaedyn on just formula a couples months into it.  i did him half and half from the beginning.

Thanks for the pic comments!!! :)

sbumblebeeo: I totally understand how you feel about having your shower too close to your due date! That was my concern too. Dh & I planned our own & it's set for Jan 17. I wanted more of a celebration than a girls only shower, so we set it up at a venue where we see lots of concerts. They have a VIP room that is perfect! We're inviting all family & friends, so it should be fun :) Yes, we registered already. We still have to tweak a few things & add some things, but you can do that online. I'll tell you, registering (although fun) was exhausting! We walked around the store for 4 hours with no place to sit & relax! I was hurting, I was so tired. As far as my cervix length, I'm not sure what measurements they use 'cause yours & mine are different. Mine was 3. something & went down to 2. something. Hopefully on Friday it'll be the same of better ;)

Princess_crankypants: It's so easy to get caught up in the mindset that you can't do certain things because you might get that long-awaited bfp. Four months before I finally got mine, I joined a Pilates studio & went 3 times per week & joined a gym & took a spin class twice a week! I never missed a class & was getting in probably the best shape I had been in in years & felt great :) I think it's a good idea!

Catharine: you seem to be a very positive person! I am glad you are making plans. I know you said you are doing injections, what CD are you? do you do temps/charting? use OPKs?

Luvkayln: I know you already know this, but Addy is sooo PRETTY!! You are doing a great job! can't wait for her appt update.

JMH: yeah, when we are ttc, BDing seems more like work...although I always try to enjoy it, but I know sometimes I forget DH is not a machine, I even think he would hide sometimes....but it was nice when one time we kind of started arguing and he was the one "looking" for me, saying he also wants this as bad as I do. I can say that comunication is what keeps us strong....its been almost 5 years of TTC for us, so its been a lot of work, but good work ;o) ......Hopefully you will get your +OPK soon!!

Mommyin10: Your new pics are awsome! I thought they were your 3d/4d pics too! ;o) they are getting soooo big!! keep rubbing your belly for me, although I am not so optimistic about this cycle, I am still praying for a BFP!

mommyin10- I am excited for your appointment tomorrow!  I can't wait to see your pictures.  When they take measurements of your cervix would you try to remember to ask what it is?  My last one was 32mm so I was just curious to have someone to compare to.  So I read a post to luvkayln, did I understand that you registered for your baby shower already?  We haven't done that yet.  When are you going to have yours, any idea?  We were thinking the 7th of Feb.  but I am nervous that may be too late since our goal is 32 to 34 weeks from our doctor.  32 weeks should be right at that time.  Ok.  I'm rambling, I'll let you go.

luvkayln-  I just want you to know that I read all your posts and keep up with your beautiful pictures.  I don't often respond b/c I know you have a lot going on and don't want you to waste any moments you have responding to me.  You have much more fun stuff to do.  I am glad that you are pumping so Sean can help too.  You need to rest as much as possible plus if you go back to work I would think that having her use to both you and the bottle would make a babysitter\daycare situation easier.  Any idea who is going to watch her when you go back to work?  Not something that I really want to think about but I guess it's a nessisary evil.  Well take care and get some rest.
XOXO

Evening (or Morning or Good Afternoon) all,

Today I got up to date with my gym membership (so I can go back to PT sessions early in the new year)

I put my name down for the new yoga term starting Feb 1st (we are in Summer Holiday mode here in Australia).

And I had an epiphany that losing weight is about the rest of my life, not just for a baby (these things take a bit if time to 'click' with me :-) )

And I was patient and smiling with my MIL about my decision to go back to Uni (part time) next semester (if I keep putting things of because - we might get pregnant - I will wish my life away!)

And I told my husband I loved him instead of being a fish wife and screaming at him. Yes, I have been a cow lately, time to enjoy each other again.

Hope you are all well,

Regards,

Catharine (aka Princess_Crankypants)

Leighanne: Great Christmas pics :)

luvkayln: You make a great point! Mommy will need some sleep too, so I'll be prepared for pumping, too ;) We actually have our 3D/4D appt on Wed. The pics I posted are from my high risk doc. This past week was the first time they switched the screen over to that mode & I was impressed! The pics are so cool :) Oh, sorry! Carmelo was neutered. He's 2 1/2, so it was time, but I kept procrastinating. We finally found a reputable doc who's familiar w/Italian Greyhounds, so we felt much more comfortable. (I.G.s have no body fat, so they respond differently to anesthesia) It'll definitely be quiet tonight! I can't wait to see him tomorrow ;) Yes, Friday's the day! We'll see how I'm doing :) Enjoy your night & update after Addy's appt :)

luvkayln- oh we are trying just yet.  we are thinking during the summer so jaedyn will be a year and a half and a lil more independent.  but we will def have number 2 in the future. I cant believe Addy is a week old.  time flies by fast now,  take tons of pics and enjoy every minute of it.  I cant believe i will be planning jaedyns first birthday very soon and it only feels like yesterday he was born.

I am going to post some pics now of jaedyns x mas stuff, check them out.

Jmh2005- Awww, thanks! You are just too sweet! :) I completely agree with Mommyin10! It's completely normal, especially while ttc! The month we actually got pregnant we had "fun" instead of making it a chore like we did every other try. It was probably b/c I was going out of state the day after our iui, and I think I was more concentrated on that then ttc that month just b/c I didn't think it was gonna work, ya know? You just never know! :) I know it's hard to keep that spark alive when all you think is baby, baby, baby...! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your +OPK! :)

Mommyin10- I didn't realize you had your 4D u/s already! Your babies' are just absolutely adorable!!! I can't wait for them to get here! :) I think it's good you're getting bottles too. Ya know, it's probably more handy to do both, breastfeed and pump b/c you get that bond either way for one, and trust me when you're getting sleep in time blocks and if you're solely breastfeeding it's all on you and you're just plum exhausted... it kinda catches up with you! With pumping also, you can stock up and dh can help on those nights when you just want to get more than 2 hours of sleep! ;) And with 2 babies.... enough said! lol! ;) Addy's been eating every 2-3 hours which is what they want for breastfed babies, so now I'm getting 2 bottles worth of what she'll take right now at each pumping, so I pump everytime she eats to keep my milk up and I'm able to stock up in the fridge. Ok, I missed something! What did Carmelo have surgery for?! I'm glad he's good and almost ready to come home! :) Ok, so Friday's the day we need to concentrate on to see if you'll be going back to work or not. I know you won't over-do anything, you know I just worry about you! ;) That's great they're taking such great care of you and measuring you more and more often! I know that's a huge relief! :) We just gave Addy a bath, and now Sean is feeding her. I'll update after Addy's appointment tomorrow! :) Have a great night!!!

I just uploaded 4 new pics from last Friday =)

Luvkayln:  Wow, I guess a baby sucking is too offensive?! ;-)  It's good to hear your stories because they will definitely come in handy in a few months.  I've registered for everything, including baby bottles, although I'm planning to try to breast feed.  I'm glad I'll be prepared just in case :)  No, I can't believe she's a week old!  Time really does fly!!!  I'm glad she's not needing the blanket anymore & is doing well.  Her 1-week pics are so cute!  Keep 'em coming :)  Whether I go back to work next Mon depends on how my scans look Wed. and Fri, especially Fri 'cause they'll measure cervical length again.  If they release me back to work, I will definitely have to take it easy & see how I feel.  Plus, they'll do the fetal fibronectin test & measure cervical length again, so they're definitely keeping tabs on me & the babies, which is great :)  Yes, I do want to save my time, but I promise I won't risk anything!  dh is off this week, which is perfect timing for me being on bedrest.  He's being great & won't let me lift a finger (although it's soooo difficult when you want the dishes or laundry done NOW!)  Haha :)  Carmelo had his surgery today & will come home tomorrow.  The doc called and said he's recovering well, so that's a big relief. I'll be thinking of you & Addy tomorrow for her 1-Week appt! :)

mrspace:  I know you've got to do what you've got to do, but it would be much too difficult to move out for even a month.  I give you credit & hope everything works out for you guys :)

leighanne:  You'll have to post Santa pics & a pic of Jaedyn with the reindeer!  Too cute :)

jmh2005:  Thanks :)  Yes, I'm resting & feeling great!  It sounds perfectly normal between you & dh, don't worry.  It's especially more difficult when ttc becomes a "chore".  You've got to remember to keep the spark alive & not demand bd'ing when "it's time"!  Haha!  Trust me, we've all been there & our dh's may not tell us all the time, but they have a hard time getting in the mood when they know it's a necessary.  You're just fine!  Come on, +opk!!! :)

Hey girls! Haven't gotten a +OPK yet still waiting and having "fun" in the mean time. Saturday was my work Christmas party at one of my co workers house and I had wayyyy to much Sangria. Dh and I ended up spending the night at their house since we live about 30 minutes away. It was fun though either way.

I have a question to ask you girls. Kinda personal but I know I can count on you guys. Dh and I have an amazing marriage. Just to let know to start this thing off. However, lately our sex life has been dull. Most of the time I am tired or just not in the mood but sometimes we can go a long time without doing it and then others its all the time. Is this normal do you think?

Anyways...luvkayln  - she is so adorable. You are a beautiful mommy.

Mommyin10 - Glad things are looking better for you. Hope you are feeling well and resting up for those little babies.

Dnikki - not long now for you!! so exciting!

Hi ladies!! :) I've missed you all soooo much! It feels weird not being able to check in everyday anymore, but trust me, I'm constantly thinking of you all! :) It seems like when I do get the chance to check in, Addy wakes up and wants to eat, or I'm just plum exhausted, but I know you all understand! :) Addy had her first appointment last Thursday instead of Friday b/c she hadn't had a bm in 2 days so I was a little worried. She had been eating every 3-4 hours at that point, so I knew what went in must come out! lol! Her dr helped her to poop, so I was happy and ever since she's been on a roll! Haha!! :) She did look a little yellow at her appointment, so her dr had us go over to the hospital to get her levels checked for jaundice. Wednesday when we left the hospital, her levels were at a 9, and by Thursday they were at a 15.9. We had them re-tested on Friday and they were at a 17.6, so we had to get a special blanket to put on her to help her levels go down. Yesterday we had them tested again, and they went down to a 15 so her dr said we could stop the blanket. She has another appointment in the morning at 10:30 for her 1 week check up. She also  has an appointment on the 21st for her hearing test b/c at the hospital after she was born, she failed her hearing test in her right ear. The pediatrician said she's 99.9% sure that it's from not getting all the fluid out after she was born b/c usually when babies are deaf they can't hear in either ear. I'm not worried about it, but we'll get the results next week.

Mommyin10- Addy is doing great! :) Can you belive she's a week old already!? I can already see that the time will fly by! :( I was solely breastfeeding her for the first 4 days, and then I think when her jaundice really flared up she was having a hard time latching on. It's like she really wanted to, and then would get so frustrated b/c they have to work harder to eat when they're breastfed to get the milk. So for the last 3 days I've been strictly pumping and giving her my milk in a bottle, and it's so much easier for her b/c she doesn't have to work hard for it. :) I'm a little bummed, but this is actually easier on my nipples b/c I can control how hard the pump *****, I can't control how hard she *****! Haha!! :) Plus I'm already getting 2oz out of each side which the dr is amazed by, so I can have backups in the fridge which I love! I still pump every 2-3 hours to keep my milk up and producing more and more each time. Plus now Sean can help feed in the middle of the night, and that's good for me! :) I'm SO glad everything came out ok with you! And how awesome that you and dh were able to go to dinner afterall! :) I think your dr has a very good point though about you being uncomfortable at dinner from the sitting and that's what you're constantly doing at work!!! When do you think you'll make that final decision on when you'll stop work? I really think you should listen to your body no matter what. I mean, your u/s can still show that your cervix hasn't changed and that's great, but if you're uncomfortable while sitting I think it's time to start thinking about it. I know you really don't want to not work, but you know your body better than anyone and I know you'll listen to it! ;) How are you feeling otherwise? I'm excited for your 4D u/s in just a few short days!!! They're the best! ;)

Keyan- Oh sweetie, don't give up yet on this cycle!! I think it's a great idea for you to stop taking those stupid OPK's for this cycle! They're just stressing you out, and you don't need to be stressed out! ;) I think for sure if this cycle doesn't work, definately go with the smiley's next time. They are more expensive, but you know now the round-about time you're ovulating, so it'll be easy to catch it! :) Welcome to your 1ww!!! :)

Leighanne- Congrats on ttc baby #2!!! :) I know it will happen soon for you!! :) Have you posted anymore pics of Jaedyn lately? I'm getting ready to take a 1 week old pic of Addy now and will upload it! :) How precious that you got pics of Jaedyn with 2 baby reindeer!! Aww!! :) I can't wait to see those! :)

Dnikki- Wow, happy 30 weeks!! You are getting there girlfriend! ;) I'm glad you're still managing at work! I have a feeling you'll be stopping soon. It'll be for the best! :) I know before I stopped working, I kind of felt bad that I did but honestly, it was the best thing I could've done! I got lots of cleaning done, and rest in before Addy's arrival! :) Wow, your first labor was 36 hours?! Geez...! They say the 2nd labor goes much quicker, and it held true for me so hopefully it does for you too! ;) Addy's been doing much better at night the past few nights. At first she would not sleep in her basinet, which is in our room. But now she's sleeping great. Either she will wake me up every 3 hours or so to eat, but just in case I set my alarm for every 3 hours and that seems to be working just great! :) Take it easy and have fun baking cookies! :) I plan to do that next week!! :)

Kmcarino- Don't get too discouraged about trying to find a name for your bundle of joy! The right name will come to you, and you'll feel in your heart that it's the right name! :) I know I was having the hardest time trying to find a name for Addy's middle name, and it just hit me and I felt that it was just perfect! :) I'll admit though that I have hard times trying to pick out boys' names too! Girl names just seem so much easier for some reason... I'll try and think though for you! :)

Mrspace- OMG, how upsetting about your job situation! :( I know that will be so hard to be away from your husband over the next month! I think I would go crazy, but at least you'll be able to stay with your mom so you'll have that comfort! :) I think that's a great idea to start tracking your bbt before starting up on the meds! It'll be a lot less stressful when you fully ttc again! :)

Ok, we're trying to get a good pic of her looking at us right now!! It's umm.. not really working! haha!!! :) I hope everyone is doing wonderful! :)

Thank you so much everyone!  I only spotted slightly after my LAP, and I only had a partial D&C done (he took several biopsies of my endometrium), but he didn't full remove it like he would in a D&C.  I have just been feeling so nauseated the last few days, but that could be from stress too.  So I wanted to be sure.  Also, DH and I want to go back on meds in the next few months, so I want to start up my BBT chart again and possibly do OPKs again.  Just so I know what my cycle is like now (before we start up meds again).   I will probably wait until after I move back home before I go to the doctor.

I might be moving away from my husband for the next month. It's no fun, but necessary.  My office is closing on Friday and I have two choices (well...my boss will choose for me).   They won't give me my severance package until mid January so they will force me to either not take a paycheck for a month or to work at a different office.  So I can either commute 90 minutes away in the NASTY snow with NO gas milage paid, or I can do charity work.  My mom's school has agreed to sign me on for charity work.  So I will (hopefully) be moving in with her for a month.  It's an hour and a half way, but it would help us out financially.

After all that is done...back to TTC :)  We are so excited!!!

Princess_crankypants: Welcome to our thread :) I'm
so glad to hear the poem has given you that extra boost we sometimes need :) Yes, a special little girl was born on your b-day! That's awesome :) Well, I think you'll find these women very supportive & helpful. Welcome, once again :)

Keyan: Doing good :) I went with dh to my work yesterday so he could move the rest of my office stuff upstairs. Thankfully he got it all done, since I'll be in a new assignment if/when I go back! I'm feeling good. I'm resting a lot & yes, I was working on Christmas cards & our poem is just about done. I need to type it into the computer & print it out on pretty paper :) The invites should arrive tomorrow, so I'll get those out by the end of the week. I'll try to post u/s pics today! :) I think you should just edit out your cycle & hope for a bfp in 1 week! (that's what I'm
hoping for!) ;) Haveva great week!

kmcarino: Yes, I agree with you on naming your first son after dh, rather than the second. Maybe Luis could be his middle name? Or Joseph means a lot, so that would be a great middle name. I like Jason & Ryan. Both sound good with Joseph ;)

Mrspace: I've never had a lap, but I know dnikki & keyan are very helpful in that area :) Hope you're feeling good!

leighanne: The movement is definitely picking up & I'm loving it! :) Has Jaedyn seen Santa yet?

luvkayln: How are you doing? :) How's Addy? Happy 1-Week B-day to her :) Are you getting her into all her new outfits?!? What size is she wearing? I'm sure you & Sean are enjoying every moment :)

dnikki: Yay for ds moving into his new room & that he's so excited about it :) The monitor is a great idea! dh is off work this week, which is perfect timing since I'm on bedrest :) He took Carmelo to the vet today. He's finally getting neutered ;( poor pup! Our crown moulding is up & today dh will prime, caulk & hopefully paint it :) Then he'll start on the wood flooring! It's really looking cute! How are you feeling? Did you get the
cookies done?

Good Morning!

Dnikki: that's great DS loves his new room!! ;o) I will be looking foward for the new pics!! BTW, 4?! I didn't know you had so many laps performed?! why? Thanks for thinking of us!! we are still having warm temps, which is not normal at this time of the year, but is getting cooler...I was hoping for cold nights (I know my cold nights doesn't compare to yours, but you know what I mean)

MrSpace: Like Dnikki said it is normal, also if you had a D&C, it can have an effect on your cycle. plus you had so much work done. Hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long!

Princess_Crakypants: Welcome to our thread!! and YES we all here are trying to be Woman of Strength! you will find here lots of support!

Luvkayln: hey you Mommy!! How are you?! Happy 1 week to Miss Addy!!

Mommyin10: How are you doing? How do you feel? Did you get done with your christmas cards and poem? how about the invites?

Kmcarino: Jason sounds nice, do you like it?

Not much on my end....waiting waiting, I stopped doing the OPKs, I still have two test left and will be doing them this week, just to see what is happening, if they are finally negative.

My husband's name is Luis...he is from Costa Rica.  Other family names are Israel, which ir eally don't like, and I really don't want another Luis(our first should have been Luis if we were going to do that), Joseph, which I would like to use as the middle name, Herald, my father's name, and Allen, his middle name.  Joseph is my grandfather's name who passed away in May.  We have narrowed our list down but I really am not crazy about any of them which makes me sad.  We have Ryan, Kevin, Jason, Devon, Joshua, and Tyler.  I can't remember if there are any more.  My husband likes Jason the best.

Just wanted to stop by this thread and say hello. You all seem so friendly and supportive. Love the 'women of strength' poem. I've printed it out and stuck it under my alarm clock to motivate me to go for a walk.

I am relatively new to ttc - I'm 38 (now, I was born on the 7th of December and I see that there has been a little addition on the same date - congratulations Luvkayln, Pearl Harbour babies are very speacial ;-)  ) and my husband and I have been 'trying' seriously for about 12 months. I have a fertility guru (actually #2 and am swapping to a different one, long boring story, but I feel better about the new guru).  So at the moment I self-inject follicle stimulating hormones and then get internal scans and then self-inject a ovulation trigger with 3 follow up triggers after that. My doc seems to think I have a good change of getting pregnant. Um, thats about it.

Oh, we don't have any children and husband has tested 100% ok.

I could do to lose about 10000000 pounds to be in a healthy weight range, but my age is against me, so its all guns blazing! Walking, yoga, positive thinking and the occasional melt down.

So hi, from Australia, to the rest of you wonderful people.

Mrspace: I've had that happen also (4 laps done) and they said sometimes the bleeding we have afterward can basically be our AF. If you are 2wks late, that sounds about right that your AF could have certainly arrived right after your lap. I hope everything is going good your way!!!

Mommyin10:We moved DS to his new room yesterday!!! DH got the moulding and such done and he was able to take a nap in it yesterday and he LOVES IT!!! He's so excited to tell everyone about it and show them lol. I still have few dinos and stuff to put up, but I should get those done today. Then we just need to get his clothes and toys up there too. I bought one of those summer video monitors and I'm so glad I did!! I can see anything he does without going up there and disturbing him :-) Plus the stairs get harder and harder on my pelvis lol! I will put pics up today!! I hope you had a great weekend and everything is well your way!!! Oh, I wanted to tell you (I also think you asked about Peyton's middle name...) we are spelling it Therese - it's the German spelling after DH's Grandma but still pronounced Theresa. Have a good day!!!

Hugs, Love and SSBD to all :-) I'll post pics later!!! Have a great day!!

Hey everyone.  I have been super busy with work related stuff.

I have a question for any of you who've had a LAP done.

My doctor said that the surgery shouldn't affect my cycle, but I'm 2 weeks late on AF.  I feel so icky today.  I've been feeling nauseated in the mornings for the last few days and this morning, but now I'm starving.  I don't think it's really possible that I'm PG because we haven't been on meds and I had the surgery.

I'm just wondering how long it took everyone for AF to show after a LAP.
