Fertility

I have been diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis Jan 2008. I have undergone surgery and was immediately put on Zoldex 10.8mg. I have all the side effects and the pain has worsened. I was later disgnosed with poly cyctic ovary disease ( which told that it could be the side effect of zoladex). My treatment ends 31 July 2008. Please tell me does this mean? Does is mean I can start the process to fall pregnant. Do I have to wait few months until the zoladex wears off? Can I start fertility tabs the next month - august 2008. What is the process?

I went to an Endo specialists and he said that after 31 July 2008, he will use an internal scan to check as to whether the endo has cleared up. it seems lupron addresses the endo and still gives you the option to fall pregnant. Zoladex doesn't even allow to fall pregnant, whilst on it. I am going back to the dr on the 4 August to to whats the next steps.....I have heard that after the scope, women do fall pregnant much easier. Please do go to a professional endo specialists, the normal gynae don't really pick up on the endo without doing a scope. Good luck to you too and please keep me updated

huh, thats interesting! sounds a lot like lupron then.. which is a monthly injection that puts you into menopause to supress endo.. how are they going to check to see if the endo has cleared out? are you going to have another lap??  i'm currently waiting to miscarry..(we got preg finally, but with a blighted ovum, grrr!)   but we will go back to follistim and femara and IUI's then if no luck i think i might meet with one of the endo excision specialists, especially that one in NYC, i've heard great stories about him  actually getting rid of peoples endo (though not a minor surgery, but still a lap most of the time) and people getting preg no problem afterwards!  GOOD LUCK! keep me updated! ANYTHING is possible and it defintley can happen! we are proof!

Thank you so much for a response. I have been feeling hopelessly depressed. Zoladex is an implant. Treatment is for 3 months at a time, however, the treatment puts into menopause - hot flashes, depression, weight gain, etc. There is no ovulation, one becomes infertile. I was told by the doc, my chances are slim ....so they will try everything after my treatment to get me preg. After the last treatment (31 July 2008), I will go back to determine as to whether the endo has actually cleared or not. I am so eager to know what's the next steps...

hi! sorry to hear about what you've been going through!!!   I unfortuantely understand very well!   i was diagnosed with stage 4 endo about  6 months ago, (i had no symptoms, but premenstrual spotting) and i ended up losing an ovary from the endo... and then was later diagnosed with PCOS on my remaining ovary! : (     so we went straight to the fertitliy dr to hopefully get on the fast track to getting preg since time is so important with endo... we opted for IUI's with femara (femara can suppress endo and is also being used like lupron for three months at a time) so since it supresses endo, and can cause ovulation stimulation, we chose that and have had great luck, actually got preg our third IUI (we added injectables at that time too)..      as far as the zoledex goes, i'm not familar with that.. is it like lupron??  typically with lupron, i think you have to wait for at least one period before ttc... GOOD LUCK! your in my prayers!
