If this helps you any, I had my right ovary removed around 1986. I went on to have 2 pregnancies after that in my 20s. I am trying to get pregnant now and I currently am, however, I've been losing them in miscarriages (3 - since November 2006). I'm pregnant again and hopign tis one sticks.
I've, however, always had a regular period on a 28-day cycle. It sounds like you might have ovulating issues or hormone issues. Have you gone to see a fertility specialist.?
So I don't think your problems is because you have just one ovary. It could be something else. Because you can get pregnant just from having one ovary.
Good luck.
I agree with the last post, I am also in the early stages of TTC, I mean we have been trying for 2 1/2 years but so far have only in the last while tried Clomid for 6 months and now a HSG and SA. Being on here has been of huge support to me even though I don't know many at this stage, just reading everyones posts and answers has already helped me much. My next visit is to a RE and although nervous about that I am excited too because as the last post mentioned getting a plan in place is important.
On here I feel like I need a degree just to figure out what everyone is talking about because I don't have that plan in place yet and so obviously have no idea how my reproductive works from what I have read here. I have a lot to learn !!!
Hang in there and good luck.
Hello. I don't really have any good advice for you, as my husband and I have been ttc for 5 years now. I just wanted to say hang in there, and we on this forum are all here to support one another through these trying times. Are you seeing an RE, or just your OB/GYN? I would suggest an RE if you aren't already seeing one. And ask lots of questions of your RE. Make sure you have a well established plan of what you will do next if the current treatment doesn't work. My RE is currently trying to get rid of a cyst on my left ovary, but he has a plan laid out ahead of time. We tried Provera, and the cyst shrank, but didn't go away. Now I'm on bcp. If those work, I'll start injectible fertility meds next cycle ( OB/GYN tried me on clomid for a year with no success). If not, it's surgery to remove the cyst. But my RE is very good about explaining what we're trying and why. Anyway, good luck to you!
