I am seeing an infertility Dr. now.  I had a laporoscopy several years ago.  I had endometriosis implants removed and the horn of my biconuate uterus removed.  I now have a hydrosalpinx (fluid filled tube) that needs to fixed/removed with another laporoscopy.  My Dr. said my chances of getting pregnant go down everytime I have surgery but has yet to tell me what % my chances are or what i want or any options.  I feel like I need to research more Dr.s in my area.  I don't feel like he understands me and doesn't take much time to talk to me.  I feel like I can't ask him questions.  Anyway, does anyone know a reputable site where I can find infertility specialists in my area?  I am in the Philadelphia area.  Any help would be great.  As if it's not sad enough to have to deal with this and then to feel like I'm chasing my tail in circles with Dr.s is not helping.  Please help!

I have scar tissue from the endometriosis removal from the first laporoscopy.  Now I have to have it removed again which will cause more scaring.  I also have scar tissue buildup from the removal of the "horn" from my bicornuate uterus (that's a heart shaped uterus).  So my chances also go down due to this and now the hyrosalpinx (fluid filled tube).  I feel like no matter what I do chances just keep going down and down.  I'm only 31 years old.  Anyway, thank you for all of your help.  I'll keep looking for clinics in my area.  Thank you.  All information is helpfull if it's only that I'm not alone.

I had lots of scar tissue due to past surgeries in my pelvic area that was causing infertility.  IVF however, solved that problem for me.  So, a lap will not hinder ivf success.

Good luck looking for a new RE!  If you are doing ivf, I would pick a local clinic that has the highest success rate in your area.  By law all clinics supposed to report that.

Good luck!
