I am gearing up for my first IVF cycle.  I go on birth control pills next week (assuming my period comes and not a miraculous BFP)

I'm just wondering, are there any medical conditions that will hinder the success of IVF?  DH and I are unexplained infertility, but sometimes I have luteal phase spotting.  (My progesterone has been tested and is normal)

I feel like something must be wrong with me causing this spotting, and a part of me feels like this needs to be dealt with before going to IVF as it's expensive, and I don't want anything to get in the way of it working.

Any feedback would be so appreciated. :-D

I don't get the whole LP spotting either. I had a cd 21 progesterone test & u/s done last Thursday without the results yet. I've had it the last 4 months, the only 4 AF's I've had since my son. SO, I figured this was preventing me from getting pregnant as well. BUT, I'm still Spotting red right now and also just got a BFP today. SO, I'll call tomorrow and hopefully they can run some tests. Good luck to you :)

I agree with what Helen said about the working uterus and a little bit of luck.  I'm sure you're really excited to do IVF. It really is a fun time!  I hope you get pregnant the first time around!

PS. I'm holding out on the miraculous BFP for you!

I had luteal phase spotting that typically started 5 days before AF.  Ivf worked for me though.  Note that ivf solves many problems that other treatments like iUI do not.  All you need is a working uterus and a little bit of luck.

SSBD!!!
