Hi Omja.  My husband is 31, very healthy, nonsmoking and I know his sperm count is less than 10 mill.  They recommended IVF with ICSI for us.  They didn't recommend any medicine for my husband.  I think some people just naturally have less of a count and motility.  It does not make my husband any less of a man.  The nice thing about IVF is you can have as few as 8 sperm and it can work.  And if they do ICSI, they will manually fertilize the eggs so motility is not an issue either.  I have heard of people getting pregnant naturally with low sperm count, but it may take a lot longer. :)

Did they say how many million sperm you had altogether? I think they like to see 20 million or more (maybe that's the 15mn/ml you mentioned). Keep in mind, though, that it is not unusual to have one "abnormal" sperm sample. They usually like to do another one at a later date to make sure it wasn't just a one-time thing.

Oh, and it can take a normal, healthy couple up to a year to conceive, so you still have a few more months ;-)

Best of luck to the two of you!
