Pregnancy after D

I miscarried on November 29th.  I have not had my period yet.  I have had unprotected sex several times after I saw my dr. for my followup appointment.  I have been taking pregnancy tests but they all show negative results.  I feel sick.  My back, head, stomach, and breasts hurt.  I haven't felt like this since before the d&c (when I was pregnant).  I usually don't show positive test results until I am 2-3 weeks past the due date of my period.  What are my chances of being pregnant if I haven't had a period, had d&c on Nov 29th, and feel sick?  I've heard your period should come 4-6 weeks after your d&c but it will be 6 weeks next week.  What are your thoughts?

Hi there, I had a D & C on 12 December 2006 having lost the baby two weeks prior at 7 and a half weeks gestation.  I have not yet had my period and also haven't had any real pregnancy symptoms.  I have tried three different pregnancy tests with the second coming back a weak positive (over the last three days) where the first and third test have been definite negatives.  I would like to either be pregnant or get my period, the waiting is the hardest thing.  Is it still possible I could be pregnant or is it just the D & C causing the delay in my period?  I wish you all the best.

Hi everyone,
I took a blood pregnancy test and my results came back yesterday...Negative.  I even got my period TODAY!  How about that?  As I remember, my last period which was really implantation bleeding was September 8th.  My period came today January 9th.  Anyways, baby dust to those who are trying and to be honest, it doesn't matter if I get pregnant again or not.  Good luck to you all and I really wish you all well!

Hi there,

I was 7 1/2 weeks pregnant when i had a D&C on November 25th. I had unprotected sex only one time afterwards-- Dec 8th. I didn't think I would be pregnant again so soon but yes, its confirmed that I am. I am now about 6 weeks along and have my first ultrasound tommorrow. I think I ovulated 2 weeks after my D&C, around the time i had unprotected sex. The p test came out positive on December 23rd. Try using First Response pregnancy test. its the best test out there and detects the lowest amount of HCG. My doctor gave me a test (not first response) the same day and her test came out negative. The nurse couldnt believe that i got a positive result so early..only about 3 weeks pregnant! My timeline seems very much like yours although everyone's body is different. I would say that if u don't get your period by next week sometime- 6 weeks, take a first response test...good luck!

Guess what?  I got my blood test results back today.  The nurse called me at work and said it was negative.  I'm sort of relieved because the money I saved for the baby I miscarried has been spent on adding a sunroom to the house and also we are replacing some siding. I am not disappointed because my husband and I have had too much fun in the bedroom  With my last pregnancy I had implantation bleeding (spotting) and took at blood preg test a week later and it was negative.  Two weeks later I took a hpt and it was positive.  And you know the story about taking hpt and getting negative results.  So I never know until I am very late.  I have a dr. appointment scheduled for January 23 with my gyno so if I don't get one by then, I will definitely have them test again.  A matter of fact, I will test again next week.

Hey everyone, I took a blood pregnancy test in the office and it was negative but they sent it off STAT to make sure.  I really feel like I am because today and I felt like something was stuck in my throat (you know how it feels before you thrwo up).  I also have been having breast tenderness, on and off still.  I continue to have back pain and not to mention frequent urination.  I am worried sick.  The results didn't come in today.  The dr. office had to send it to another town and won't get the results back until Monday.  So imagine what my weekend will be like.  I will keep you guys posted.

Someone said they saw my previous thread (post)  where was it?  I couldn't find it.  I am fairly new with this site.  Thanks for the support!

Hi there,

I did reply to you on the other thread you posted on but not sure whether you went back there :)

I had a missed m/c (7w 4 days) and a D&C on 27th Sept, I used Ovulation Predictor Kits which showed two LH surges and we weren't using protection so when I didn't have a period we thought I must have conceived but all HCG tests were neg. I started my first period since D&C on 1st Jan - 14 weeks (less one day) later.(An awfully long wait).
I have heard lots of stories about women getting pregnant again straight after a m/c but I think it may take some women (me included!) a while for their bodies to get back into the swing of things.

Good Luck!

After my m/c my doctor told me that it's possible to ovulate about 2 weeks after a m/c before you get af. He said he's seen quite a few women come in for a follow up appt. already pregnant again.  I'd go and get a blood test.  Good luck!

I know a few people who got pregnant immediately following a D&C- they both ovulated 2 weeks after the D&C and wound up pregnant- both have had successful pregnancies... i would get a blood test- best bet... especially because it would be difficult to pin point exactly when conception occurred if you were not charting or using OPK's to determine possible ovulation.
I had a D&C on December 18th- I have not had a period- I am using the clear blue easy fertility monitor and I have yet to ovulate- day 17 past D&C.
