You guys are all great. Sincerely...thank you for all of the words of encouragement! I really do appreciate it! In the meantime, I keep staring at the embie photo instead of working!
Your embies are perfect!!!! Just take it real easy as best you can. My RE had me on bedrest for just 1 day but I actually continued my bestrest for 3 days....I figured it can't hurt to really relax, especially since my job is a bit stressful. I too transfered 3 embies (was supposed to be 4) but 1 didn't make it. 2 of mine were 7cell and 1 was 8cell. I am currently 10wks pregnant with 1 lil' bean, so just try to relax and focus on taking care of yourself and making a nice cozy home for your embies! I did accupuncture too....and still am till I reach 14wks. That certainly helps to keep you relaxed too!! Good luck....I will be praying for those embies to be sticky, sticky, sticky!!!
Thanks for the reality and sanity check! Thank you for this...I especially love this quote:
"Remember that God has designed the human body with enough sense, that coughing and sneezing will not cause the embryos to "fall out".enough sense, that coughing and sneezing will not cause the embryos to fall out."
I should be working (from home), but instead keep looking at the picture of the embies trying to count cells and examining them for fragmentation. Insane!!
Laura
ohh i forgot
doctors can help you 75% but the other 25% is nature ( implantation) there is nothing your doctor can do about this...its just plain nature
Implantation failure can be divided into three areas: Problems with the embryos, problems with the “host uterus” and problems in the interaction between the embryo and uterus.
It is normal to blame yourself for something you may or may not have done during this time if you do not conceive. Therefore, try not to do anything for which you will blame yourself if you do not get pregnant. In general the following guidelines are offered:
No tub baths or swimming for 48 hours after replacement
No douching or tampons
No intercourse or orgasms until the fetal heartbeat is seen on ultrasound, or the pregnancy test is negative
Do not undertake excessive physical activity such as jogging, aerobics, or tennis
No heavy lifting
You may return to "work" after 24 hours of bed rest (getting up for bathroom and meals only) and one to two days of light activity.
It's safe to travel 2-3 days after the transfer.
If you are unsure whether or not to do something, take the "path of least regret". Ask yourself - if I don't get pregnant, will I blame myself for doing this ? And if the answer is yes, don't do it !
Many doctors used to advise "strict bed rest" after an embryo transfer. However, remember that your physical activity does not affect your chances of getting pregnant. Resting when you are well can be very emotionally taxing, and we encourage patients to lead as normal a life as possible. Many patients are worried that if they cough or sneeze , the embryo will "fall out". However, remember that this is physically impossible, and that if the embryo is going to implant, it will, no matter how much you exert physically. Remember that God has designed the human body with enough sense, that coughing and sneezing will not cause the embryos to "fall out". The uterine cavity is a "potential space", and once the embryos are placed here, they appose to the uterine wall and are not affect by gravitational forces.
Good luck TTC
I had 2 neg IVF in 2009 and now i am trying natural. I had pefect embryos but they never implant ( i try 3 embryos each time)
the problem is the implantation once the embryo gets there and implant and then you will get pregnant. So it doesnt matter if the embryo is grade a b or c. as long it get to implant you are 1 step ahead.
Good luck and baby dust!
Hi Melissa.
Well, we struggled with accepting the reason...but my eggs were 41 years old at the time of the first IVF. The reason wasn't any more compliacted or interesting than that. So we're just hunting for the right egg. I had trouble accepting my own RE's conclusion but spoke to another RE who happened to be a college classmate. He gave me a really good anaology...remember dating? Remember dating a guy who looks great but turns out to be no good? No different with embryos...they can looks beautiful, but they may not be that great. And the reverse is true too...a not terribly good looking embryo could end up being a total winner.
Hope that helps!
Best wishes to you and I pray they will stick, may I ask you what your er said was one reason they didnt stick last time, as i put in my last forum our dr was against us going for third ivf, my egg quality isnt good and i dont get many eggs, but we are giving it one last chance and will transfer whatever we get. your cell size and grade of embryos so much better than mine, we only had a 6 cell at 3 day transfer. lots love melissax
rest up and stick babies stick :)
Congrats! You need lots of rest now so your little babies can grow. My RE specifically told me to stay reclined for the first 24 hours and then limit my sitting up the next 24. He actually told me to stay on modified bed rest the third day, too. I would get up and walk around if I needed something; otherwise, I was propped up on the couch for three days. And it worked :-) Many prayers for a non-stressful two weeks.
