I am a 25 year old female. My husband is 37 years old. We really want to have a baby. I do have a daughter, from a previous marriage. We have been trying for almost a year now to conceive, with no luck. I have been seeing my primary doctor and my ob/gyn monthly for the past 3 months. All of my blood/lab tests came back normal. I've had my hormones checked, my "girl organs" checked, and everything seems to be fine. One little problem, my periods have been really far in between lately. My last two periods were 112 days apart. I'm now on day 115, still no period. Pregnancy test said negative. My periods are usually 35-40 days apart, not heavy or anything, and last no more then 5 days. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I didn't have a positive test until I was 3 months along. So, with all of my testing being normal, my husband's sperm count being fine, am I missing something here?
The doctor thought maybe my weight was an issue. I've been on a diet for 3 months now, and I've lost 15 pounds. I'm still 50 pounds lighter then I was a year ago, and even then my periods were like clockwork. I've been checked for fibroids, cancer, tumors, cysts, you name it. But nope, everything is just fine! I'm not really "stressed". I'm a stay at home mom. Is there something I should ask my doctor to check? Is there maybe something I can do on my own to help get pregnant? Any suggestions would be wonderful.
