How lond does most ppl take clomid before they get pregnant? I know it varries with different ppl but is there an agerage? Sorry Im just still learning.
Tina, you made me laugh with your post...because they are very true. Well, I am on my first cycle of Clomid 50 mg now. I have made an early post here asking if there is a way I have ovulated without feeling any symptoms--because I am still not feeling anything up to this time that I am ovulating or have ovulated. On the first few months of ttc, I would get GRUMPY when I see only one line on the stick. So, I would presume that it was a defective stick, so I would open up another one...still one line!! haha! I guess I was wishing so hard for two lines to appear, even just a faint line would make me smile...BUT NO!! BIG FAT NEGATIVE!! waaahhh!! I would cry, then get back on my feet and focus on the next cycle. But what's even worse, I have always been irregular! So, when my periods don't not come, I would get excited most of the time, thinking that I might be pregnant already! So, you definitely are not alone. I am trying to get myself relaxed also...hoping that I ovulated some time this month, hoping that the Clomid worked for me this month. If not, I'll take the 100 mg on my next cycle...but we're keeping our fingers crossed and praying hard.

Only 2 a month, lol. I am the queen pee sticker!! I usually blow through at least 8-10 hpts. A few OPKs as substitute hpts for amusement purposes. B4 then, o week is OPK time and I usually do at least 3 a day in addition to my monitor. I'm just glad that monitor will only let you once a day, those puppies aren't cheap!! No, you are definitely not alone in the pee stick aholic club! :o) Most of us here are irrational, compulsive, obsessive, pee on anything that makes a line, kind of people. We hold them up to bright lights, take them apart, take them outside in natural light, take pics and post so others can see and fish them from the trash, lol. There are a few that have a will of iron and can hold out til missed af, but I can count them on one hand.
I think I read somewhere that 50% of women who take clomid will get pregnant in the first 3 mos./cycles. The other 50% may have other unexplained infertility and may need to resort to other methods of achieving pregnancy.
PTs: I usually try to buy the packs of preg. tests that have 2-3 tests in a box - and I usually get the cheapest brand (equate at WalMart is pretty good). I've used the test strips from the internet and they work pretty good too, but have heard they have lesser sensitivity to earlier testing. I always pee in a cup and dip no matter what test, it's just less messy that way I think. Try to go day by day and try to put it off one more day each day - at least until the 2 week wait is over (after you think you ovulated).

Oh, trust me, you are not alone. Testing for pregnancy can be SOOOO tempting, even when you know its too soon. My best advice would be to wait a little longer, if not, you can buy the tests cheaper in bulk over the internet. Just do a search on google.

Oh, it's just the beginning LOL. My first ttc cycle I think I blew a good $75 or so on HPTs and OPK's. I learned my lesson the hard way about buying so many FRERs and the next time just stocked up on the $trees and only ONE two-pack of FRER as the grand finale. Then I went from FRER to Answer brand and now 6 mos later I'm a little better but I only use $trees.

The first month i was put on clomid..i went tru the samr thing..i found out i had 2 perfect follicles..and i got a trigger shot and thas when the obsession started...i tested from cd9 all the way till cd28 thas when i got my af i spent $$$ every day back and forth from cvs and i order preg. test on line too i used them all...the next month i didnt even ovulate and thas when i calmed down..i was like you know what forget it...this month i had to take provera to start my period..after that i was put on clomid this time 100mg days 3-8 and yesterday it was my cd14 u/s and good news i got 1 perfect follicle..so i trigger shot again..and im ovulating today and i will be bding for the next 2 nites..but this time i wont test..im just going to wait...i was so dissapointed the first month..that now im like whatever when it happens it will...so just relax dont think about it and go with the flow...good luck n take care!!
I was just wondering if everyone else has spent hundreds of dollars on pregnancy tests like i have. I buy at least two a month, sometimes more. Im obsessed with getting prego. I cant help myself I cant wait for my AF I just dont have the patience. Will I ever get over being obsessed?
