yeah i was very surprised to find out i was pregnant and scared as i was only 17 with my 1st and i didn't find out till i was nearlly 5 months with my 2nd. thats so bad they done that to you and your son, my next door claims to be disabled and she never uses hers mobility scooter and we live in a 2nd floor flat.
can't you change docs? if clomid doesn't work for us then we got to pay for anything else we try and its so wrong cos my partner hasn't got any children of his own and that kind of saying cos he wants to be with me he has to go with out if we cant get pregnant on the clomid.

I am so sorry you have had to go through all of that, our NHS service is really really cr@p. I can't believe you had to go through all of that... like you would make it up!!! I bet you were surprised when you found out you were pregnant after everything you had gone through. I hope the pcos stays low key and you get pregnant again soon. I don't qualify for any funding.. I litterally begged my dr to help me but I dont think he is human!! Like you say the NHS spend too much time and money on giving out their time and money to people who dont deserve or appreciate it.... just like all the agencies, I have a child with special needs who I was getting a disability allowance for, it wasnt much but when it came round for review they removed his allowance and made me reapply... to cut a long story short I lost my appeal and noe get nothing..... The agencies do pay it out to fat wasters who ride round on those disability scooters because they are hugely fat and lazy but they wont pay out for a child??!!!! Its all wrong!

cos they kept saying i was just being ott about my periods at 12 they didn't investagate till i was 17 they just keept putting me on the pill and another tablet that i took 3 a day with(but i stopped that as it was making m sick and making my hair fall out), sounds grosss but we took pics in in the end and i keept ending up collapsing in the end with the pain so they brought me in for a laporosopy and saw i did have it but it was on my tubes, whomb and bowl then so they put me on prostrap for 6 months and told me i wouldn't be able to have children, after the treatment they put me back on the pill which then i feel pregnant with my 1st, then i got a massive blood cyist on one of my tubes  and had it removed luckly they managed to save my tube they then told me i wasn't o'ing no more so wont be able to have anymore children then after that i feel pregnant with my 2nd then had the marina but that went wrong so had it removed then put on zolidex but that didn't work, its so bad now i got to take morphine when af arrives.i dont know if the pcos will stay like that they haven't really said much about it apart from show me it on the scan.
thats so wrong they wont give it to you on the nhs when they give wasters help on the nhs.
they said they give it to everyone at the clinic on days 2 - 6
(sorry its a long message lol)
i really hope clomid works for you, is there funding you can get?

Gosh, sounds like you have been on a merry-go-round ride. I had endiomstreosis when .. had an operation to clear most of it out and took the pills for about 6 months and then fell pregnant with my youngest. Since then (touch wood) I have been clear. I don't know much about PCOS.. if you have it mildly does that mean you will stay at that stage? I know its ok to take the clomid if you have it as tons of women on here take it. I can't believe the clinic you went to said they would start you on clomid then said no!! What a joke. My Dr's aren't interested in helping me AT ALL!!!!!!! because I already have children they say I dont qualify - charming! I guess that means I don't really want one then??!?! They won't even perscribe me the clomid. The fertility clinic is really expensive but its my only hope. Good luck with the Clomid - I am so pleased you finally got it perscribed and hope it works :) :) do you know why you have been told to take it 2-6?

yeah it is devistating.
my periods have always been all over the place as i have endometrosis (they told me to get a heystorectomy which is why we started trying) then i went to the clinic and she said i haven't got endometrosis (which is quite funny as they were giving me treatment since i was 12 and have had 3 ops cos of it) then when i went for my scan to see if i o and to measure my egg they diognoised me with very mild pcos.
i think i only got listened to cos my doc has been through it all herself and refered me and when the clinic said they would give me clomid and then 3 weeks later said they wont now she wrote a letter saying she wanted to know why, then they phoned me and asked me to come back and have the dye xray thing and then they dicided to give me clomid again which i'll be starting next week for the 1st time on days 2 to 6.

Sorry to hear about your m/c its horrible when you lose your baby when you think you are past the first trimester isn't. I was devestated. If your doctors have told you that it does sound like you have had a similar experience to me

To answer your question, yes thats exactly why they put me on it. As the miscarriage was unexplained it was probably due to the fact I was ovulating so early so my cycle my eggs were being released before they had a chance to mature & I managed to fertilise an egg which was not a good standard :(

My periods were all over the place after my m/c and were dr's were not interested which is why I went private as I am not getting any younger and wanted the help now! I don't even get the clomid on the NHS... it s*cks.

I just had 1 unmedicated cycle and went back to my old ways...ovulated on CD12..... did the deed on all the right days but didn't fall pregnant :(

I am taking my clomid of CD3-7 and usually ovulate on CD14-15 and will be uping the dose to 100mg this month. If you take it later in the cycle (5-9) you will find you are ovulating later.

Good luck xxx

thanks for your comments.
debs 40 - did they say that your m/c was due to your eggs? cos i had a m/c in june 2008 at 13 weeks and they said that my egg could of been immature to cope with the on going pregnancy, my periods are all over the place but i mosly ovulate cd 19.
what days are you taking your clomid ( i start mine about the 21st)
yeah i've got to pay if clomid doesn't work for us.

I'm in the same boat.  I am O'ing on my own, but dr is using Clomid for higher egg quality and more of them.  DH has a slight morphology problem, so we are also trying to give him more targets :)

I've done 2 cycles of Clomid, 1 of Femera, Clomid this cycle and will move onto IUI shortly.

Good luck!

Same... I was ovulating on my own but as I had an unexplained M/C at 13 weeks Aug08 and problems conceiving prior to that (Approx 4 years of TTC) the specialist felt it would help me to produce a better more mature egg  as I was ovualting as early on as CD9 & hopefully the clomid will help with my progesterone levels and sustain any pregnancy I am lucky to be blessed with.

I have had 3 cycles so far & have just had 1 unmedicated cycle as got a cyst on my last cycle. I  have been ovualting and producing follies of around 19mm and have not needed trigger shots so am going to try 3 more cycles. As I have had to pay privately for my treatment I am not sure what the next step is as it all gets very costly after the Clomid so fingers crossed!!

Dr's usually try Clomid or Femera as a starting point for women with unexplained fertility as it works well for most people. Good luck to you

I had same situation as docsaf. Dr also told me it helps with cycle timing. I was on a very low dose but I was having some side effects from it so he ended up taking me off of it. Best of luck to you

Me and my DH were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and the RE 1st tried clomid+trigger+IUI. He told me that he hoped it would help me produce better quality eggs. I also produced more eggs the 1st momth - the 1st month I released 2-3 eggs, the 2nd month I released 1 egg.
