first ivf

hello everyone,

this is my first ivf. i have my egg retrieval on 09/08/2011:07:00 a.m.(total 10 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized-4 8 cellled embies, and 2 7 celled ones as on 11/08/11 evening)

then egg transfer on 11/08/2011 at evening in which they transferred 3 8 celled embies, endometrium lining was 10 mm.since then i was taking adequate rest and nutritious food.

i had my progesterone level test on 14/08/2011 and it came out as 60ng/ml.

today morning(7 days after egg transfer) i.e. on 18/08/2011 i took hpt and it came out bfn.

iam feeling so depressed and out of the game now...my beta is on 23/08/2011 but still somehow i have a strong feeling that this cycle is a failed one, also i have no symptom till date after ET.

i have 3 frozen embryos, so by when shall i go for FET?shall i ask my doctor to do 5 days transfer...will it make any difference?

Although i know this cycle did'nt clicked shall i still continue my medicine and progesterone injection(susten 200 mg), this injections are taking my toll and are hurting me like hell.

Sorry for long post but i really need advise from you kind hearted people.

Hello, I had my egg retrieval on 9-5-2011, 8 eggs collected. 6 were fertilized. ET was 9-10-2011, 2 were transfered. Im still taking my daily progesterone. My dr said he has seen women take hpt which were a false negetive and wanted to stop the shots. but after beta they were actually pregnant and if had stopped the shots they wouldnt have continued their pregnancy. So stay positive. The 2ww is horrible! But Im trying to have faith.

laparoscopy and hysteroscopy isn't d same...for hysteroscopy/hysterosalpingogarphy they insert a radio-opaque dye and visualize d entire uterus and tubes for any kind of occlusion...doesn't require anaesthesia...lap on d other hand needs GA and they drill 4-5 small holes in d abdomen and do any kind of operative process which is needed...i did both in d same sittin as i was given GA...mine was an operative lap for removal of chocolate cysts on both ovaries done 4 months before my 1st ivf which failed....

Hi Bhanu, first IVF is most of the time trial and error :( i know it feels horrible and  total loss though. you got to be out of it and lets wish that the frozen cycle will be successful.

why didnt your doctor do a hysteroscopy even before she started with ivf? my RE did it as one of the checklist items. anyway, hope for the best this time. remember you are not alone and you have lots of love and support available here. my first ivf was cancelled due to poor response and i am on my way to second now. tomorrow is my retrieval.

bad news guys...its a BFN.
iam trying my best to come out of this failure.

i have two doubts after the discussion held with my re:

1.i have three frozen embryos, and asked my re for 5 days transfer, but she is hesistating and saying that although there are greater chances with day 5 embryos but there are also the chances that may be embryos could'nt survive till this stage, is it true?

2.secondly she is telling that she will do a hysteroscopy as she is suspecting an endometrial polyp, has anyone undergone laproscopy after a failed ivf?

i have one laproscopy for fibroid removal in 2008 and one lap.in 2010 for polyp removal, is polyp growth so frequent that it strikes back within a year?

pls.help.....
