july ivf cycle anyone?

Hello everyone, just want to pal up with anyone starting ivf again or for the first time in July. Some of you who read this site alot may have read about our previous ivf attempt, BFP in April but I miscarried 10 days later. We decided to try a couple of months trying natuarly but if no success we are going for one last time at ivf as we know it DOES work with me. So when af arives in July here we go again, on max menopur 450(2 injections a day) plus buserelin injection. good luck and best wishes to each and everyone of you beginning or for those who are in the middle of this process already. melissaxx

so sorry you got a negative too and you did all the extras acupuncture, vitamin taking, resting etc , i do believe its in the hands of god or rather if the chromosomes arent right to wasnt meant to be and won't develop. Did you bleed atall or just get straight neg? i ask that as i bled from day 11 and just wonder where the embryos go if you dont bleed? That was our second attempt and we are contemplating doing a third, putting back 2 embroys(only ever put back 1 before)doing acupuncture, having better leutal support, didnt have pessaries last time and seeing how we go, will most def be last as run out of money, so, so expensive. How about you? you're my age and we still have time, my clinic in England treat women up to 46 and if possible mainly with own eggs. my thoughts are with you, both my miscarriage and negative result left me very down for days, take care lots love melissax

Hey Mel, thanks for the positive words.... To answer  your question: No, did not bleed at all, just a  negative test. My Dr said when I get my period call them to setup an appointment for the next step. Financially, we where pushing it this 1st cycle....so I will do some research to figure out my options before jumping right in. I am praying that the next cycle for you will work. Xoxox Levi

MEL4141 - I am so so sorry that this didn't work out for you.  I was really praying that it would.

Melissa - are you getting excited?  Less than 2 weeks, right?  How are you feeling?

Bri - I am feeling OK.  No real morning sickness.  I had it really bad with my daughter last year.  It worries me that I don't have it this time.  Certain foods taste funny to me, and my stomach is slightly off, but it's nothing like before.  I am very sensitive to smells, I still have some breast tenderness, very vivid dreams (I had that with Adriana), some constiptation (but I have been eating yogurt and taking probiotics to help with that), exhaustion, moodiness, hot flashes and frequent urination.

I read that you are having morning sickness.  Are you hanging in there?  I know from somewhat recent experience how horrible that can be.  Have you tried those Preggie Pops?  They only helped while I was sucking on them, but at least it was a slight break from the nausea.

The kitties are doing well.  They seem to really like each other.  They are NEVER apart.  Having them has been a good distraction.  I feel a bit like a mama again.

Even though it's been 9 months now, I still miss holding my daughter, and when I close my eyes, I can still feel her in my arms.  I held her every minute that I could (hours and hours) during the 11 days that we had with her.  It was the most amazing feeling in the world.  Anyway, I really pray that I can be a mom to a living child again someday.

Hang in there ladies.

Karen,

What wonderful news about the heart beat !  I am so happy for you!  See, I told you way back when that I knew this would work for you!
You are such a doll and deserve this wonderful gift!
Maybe you could ask your RE to keep you on the progesterone like Loveday did... it might give you peace of mind.

I think of you often and am glad thing are going so well for you! : )

How are those kittens doing?!?!?

Hey there Karen!
Yes my RE said to stop the PIO at 8 weeks but I stressed to my OB yesterday after talking to him that I would like to stay on a couple more weeks....he said that was fine.  So I am going to continue until week 10!  I definitely don't want to disrupt anything else while my thyroid levels are being stabalized.  That is AWESOME news about the baby's heart beat.....what a nice jump :-)  & the SCH is gone....THAT IS WONDERFUL!!  I hope this great news gives you a little piece of mind and you are able to relax a bit.  I have my 1st OB appt. next Tuesday and he will do a ultrasound too....thank goodness cause I am going crazy not knowing how he/she is doing!  So how are you feeling???  How are your kitties doing??

Hi Ladies.

Just wanted to check in and say that I am thinking of you all.

Bri - are you off the PIO at 8 weeks?  That's when my RE stops it, but when I google this issue, it seems that most REs keep patients on it until 12 weeks.  I assume my RE knows what she is doing, but it's scary to be cut off like that.

I had another U/S this morning.  The baby's heartbeat was 141, which was a vast improvement from last week, when it was only 108.  The baby measured 7 weeks, 3 days, which seems good because I am 7 wks/2 days today.  Last week it was measuring 2 days behind, and I had been worried sick about it for a week.

My RE has offered to see me a week longer than normal because I am so petrified about something going wrong.  I couldn't get in to see my Ob until 11 days after my last RE appointment, and I figured that I would go insane after 11 days of not knowing what's going on.

Lastly, the RE said that she didn't see any more subchorionic hemorrhages, so I am praying that I am past that.  I really don't have the nerves to deal with seeing bleeding!

The Crinone my RE actually gave me a box for free since I just needed a week supply!!!  Which was awesome!  The PIO shots were covered by my insurance surprisingly and I had just a co-pay of $42 and some change.  I would get 2 viles @ a time and I have to take 1cc everynight.  The 2 viles would last me about 3 weeks....which isn't too bad.  Nothing like the cost of Gonal-F and Menopur....etc. (Thank goodness)!  To me the shots really aren't too bad.....I guess during week 5-6 it wasbecoming a bit sore but I found that putting cold packs on the site after you do the shot really helps!!!!  Putting heat on it actually made it worse for me.

Your fine... don't feel bad : )   I was just thinking I would do anything to get out of a shot! ha ha!  and you'd rather do that then the gel! Gulp... But, seriously, I can deal : )   but, I will post a question just to see what other say.

thanks for your input!   I appreciate it.  Oh, btw.. how expensive was it?

Like I said I am sure everyone is different with the Crinone gel....I just noticed the difference with cramping for me.  I am not by any means trying to scare you.....oh now I feel bad :-(  Just my preference....plus I only had 7 days left to do of progesterone and I figured I could stick it out for the 7 days with the PIO.  Yup.....I would post a question and see what others say about it....that is a great idea too!

You asked about the Crinone 8% progesterone?  Yes I actually was given that last week @ my 2nd u/s visit.  I was getting so sore from the PIO shots and they said it was fine to switch so I tried it out.  For me I actually had a bit of cramping from it and didn't care for it so I decided to grin and bare it for the remaining 6 days of PIO shots.  I am sure it is different for everyone but that was my experience w/ it.  So you are getting closer to your FET!!!!  YAY!!!!!!  We will be hearing about your BFP here soon.

Aren't you on progesterone?  That should hold off your cycle.  Maybe you should call RE's office.  Is the bleeding heavy?

Thank you so much for your congrats, good wishes and prayers, they are so gratefully received!! Karen - thank you so much for the information on progesterone, it reinforces what I have read and felt was the best thing to do. We transferred 2 so it could be twins. I wont know for a couple of weeks though as we are off on vacation (in an hour!) so my scan will be a week later than it would have usually been. Just going to relax, enjoy and not worry about what is not in my hands. I am going to do my best to check in on you all and see how you are doing - MEL4141, Levi97 and mhv you are in my thoughts and prayers for a wonderful outcome!!

Thanks for the explanation of the progesterone shot. Well, I take the shot every other day. I will ask my Re how Long do I take it since its like insurance.
Thanks so much. I am praying that you have a healthy 9months. Levi

My nurse told me that the progesterone in oil shots are like insurance.  They tend to keep your progesterone levels from dipping too low (below 10 is when you can start to have problems).  With all that we have been through, no one wants to take a chance on not having high enough levels of progesterone.
I don't do suppositories.  I do the shots daily, though.
I will definitely keep you in my prayers.  I know that the 2ww is excruciating.  I hope you are finding ways to keep yourself occupied!  Your embryo sounds very promising!!!
