16 DPO, HCG levels 907

by forevermissed, Dec 15, 2007 08:33AM
I am a little nervous because I have had 2 m/c in the past year.  But, I am praying this one is a keeper.  We are due Aug. 20th.  I just had my levels done the other day and they were at 907 16 DPO.  What do you think?? I am thinking we are off to a good start.  I go in again next week for another Beta count.  I do have more symptoms this time. Sore breasts, a little more nautious, heartburn, constipation.  I did feel a little crampy but it went away.  Is that normal?? Tell me your thoughts.
Thanks girls

sounds like multiples..:)  DId you do IUI or IVF?

by forevermissed, Dec 15, 2007 10:02AM
Thank You!!! I didn't do IUI or IVF.  I am taking progesterone supp. My grandmother is a twin though.  So, I guess it is a possibility. WoW!!!

I am pregnant with twins and at 15dpt my levels were 837.  Those numbers are great.  I am wondering if you have twins too!!  Good luck and blessings to you.  When is your first u/s?

by forevermissed, Dec 16, 2007 07:08AM
My first ultrasound is going to be in a couple of weeks.  My doctor wanted to wait until at least 6 1/2-7 weeks so that we can possibly see the heartbeat.  She knows how I worry.  I am going to get my levels done again on Wed. of this week.

by Claire134, Dec 16, 2007 08:27PM
I completely understand your anxiety. A positive HCG opens up a whole other can of worms.....will it rise appropriately? will I m/c?   I have my second HCG tomorrow, my first was 1648!. It was IVF so maybe multiples!   GOOD LUCK!

Do you ladies think "Pregnancy Hormone" and HCG are the same thing? I am due August 14th 2008. I went in 16 days after ovulation and my "Pregnancy hormone" was 1600. I took for granted she meant my hcg level. She said something like 300 is pregnant. Is this the same hormone...why would mine be so high? (I didn't take any fertility drugs)

Good Luck tomorrow!! Let us know how your numbers are.

I believe that when the nurse was referring to pregnancy hormone she was talking about your hcg levels.  Your levels sound great.  I don't think yours are too high.  Mine could have been up that high too if I would have waited another day too.  Your levels are supposed to double every 48 hrs in a normal pg.  Good luck!!  I get mine done again on Wed.  Keep your fingers crossed that they go up....

I have another question.  How far apart are you getting your levels drawn?  The nurse wanted to wait almost a week so that we could see a significant increase.  Does that sound right?  When are you due?

Thanks for the info! I was really nervous. I pray that yours go up too. I'm sure they will. Think positive and stay on top of your docotrs:)

Good luck to you! Keep us posted!

My levels are being drawn 3 days apart. they normally do 48 hrs and like to see a doubling of the HCG to indicate a normal pregnancy. 48 hrs was on the weekend so they had me wait an extra day. I had my blood drawn this morning and I'm waiting for results. They will then set up an u/s. I'm hoping before Christmas so I can find out how many! If all is correct, I'm due about Aug 20.

Claire we are due close to the same time I'm due Aug. 24ths congrat I get my ultrasound today.

Let me know how it goes.  I am due Aug. 20th too. :)  I was trying to wait till the week after x-mas before getting an ultrasound.  I really want to see a heartbeat.  Do you think I would see one at the end of next week?  I would be around 6 weeks and 3 days.  What do you think?

My follow up HCG today was 4875!. They scheduled my u/s for Dec 27. I was kind of hoping for sooner. I have connections and could probably get one sooner but part of me doesn't want to jinx it. Yes, you should see a heartbeat by around 6 wks. That's why I"m thinking of waiting until my appt. b/c seeing a sac without a heartbeat, although legitimately early, is still a little nerve wracking....but I'm curious to see if there is more than one!

How did the u/s go? What did they see? It seems a little early for a heartbeat but that would be great if they saw one. I know m/c risk decreases after they see a heartbeat. I'm excited for you!

How early did you get your u/s that showed twins. My levels are high and I"m very curious!

That is great!  I am going to ask this Wed. if I can possibly get mine done at the end of next week too.  The wait is driving me nuts.  So curious...

Congrats on your GREAT HCG level!  I had a frozen embryo tranfer and my HCG 14 days later was 787.  I got another level today 5 days later and the level is 2666.  I know it is supposed to double every 24 hours and I am worried that there may be a problem.  Does anyone know anything about this?  My u/s is scheduled for Dec 28th!!!!  I'm so excited but worried at the same time.  I had a miscarriage this year at 14 weeks and pray it will work out this time.

I think your HCG level is great!  My doctor immediately thought multiples when he saw my HCG level at 787.  My initial level was only 39 when my pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage.

Thank you!! I can't wait to get my next set of levels.  Thurs. I will know.  I think your levels are supposed to double every 48 hours.  So,  your numbers sound like they are right there.  Oh my,  my dr didn't say anything about multiples.  That is exciting.  My last m/c was the same as yours. My numbers were only at 30 when we started off.  So, hopefully, we are on the right track this time.  When is your due date?  Good Luck!

I had my u/s done at 7wk4days and it showed twins.  Your levels are very high.  How many embryo's did you have put back in?

I am due on August 26th with is right around your due date.  I have my u/s on the 28th and I am so excited!  I keep telling my self to think positively and NOT WORRY!  You should do the same... take it one day at a time and one doctors visit at a time.  Keep me updated...  I'm praying for you!

I know, it is so hard not to worry.  I think I may have them move my ultrasound to the end of next week as well.  Good luck!  I will be praying for you too.  I am going to get my levels done today.  I will let you know tomorrow.

Can't wait to hear your HCG level. GOOD LUCK!

levels should double every 48 hrs and even then if they are slightly lower, things can still be ok. What day were you for the level of 787 and did you have a 48 hr follow up one?

To: prayin4baby
I put back three embryos which is what was recommended for my age, 37. I just can't help think it may be multiples. I'm excited and nervous at the prospect. I have a 2 yo at home. Hey when you have to go through all this, you take whatever you get! (deep down secretly, I think I'm hoping for multiples ;)

I did not have a 48 hr level done after the first level, but I had a follow up level done yesterday.  It wasn't good.  My hcg level went from 2700 to 2300.  My doctors say that it could be that I was pregnant with multiples (they transfered 3) and now only one is growing.  I go tomarrow for another follow-up, but I already feel like it is hopeless.

I had an ultrasound and the baby measured 6w2d and sac 6w3d and there was a heartbeat of 139!  I bet you will see a little heartbeat too!
