Hey I am 32 and this is my 3rd cycle too.  I just had 2 day 3 8-cell embryos transferred on Monday. My first cycle I had 2 day 5 blasts and my second cycle I had 3 day 3 8-cells embryos.  I tried to get my Dr to transfer 3 this last time, but he wouldn't.  I think I would have let him transfer 5 if he thought it would up the chances, but he said it just ups the rate of multiples.  So I am hoping one or both of these are going to stick.  I hear you on the wait.  My Dr does the beta 8 days after the transfer so I guess I am in the 1WW.  I'll know on Tuesday.  When is your beta??

I also wanted to wish you luck and I;ll be watching for that BFP!!!!! : )

by andykk, Mar 07, 2008 05:11PM
I had the exact scenerio you had...3 put in 3 days post transfer, 8 and 2 sixes. The docs only wanted to put in the two, but dh convinced them that we really needed a "cheerleader" so we put in 3...have a perfect son who will be two on the 30th this month.
Good luck!! Hope the 2ww goes as quick as possible (man...they should figure out how to put you slightly under for those 2 weeks and you could just wake up after the beta test!! how wonderful would that be?)

That is what I said...we should all get a daily low dose valium during the wait so we are as relaxed as we are on transfer day just a bit more coherent. :)
I too tried to convince the Dr to put in 3 this time.  He said the two we put in were high quality and a third was too risky.  I told him to pick a third one that didn't look so good then, he still wouldn't agree.  Darn it.

Hey girls!  I hope you all get BFP's this time around!!! I'm new to IVF and am scheduled to have a transfer (i think thats the terms) the 1st week of June... what is the difference between a 3 day transfer and a 5 day transfer?  Just curious... they told me I would probably be a 5 day...

Hey girls...i gues that we just have to stick together in this 2ww.
I decided  to be a princess this cycle...I've been in bed since the transfer and just controling my life by  phone...sending text messages to my friends to bring me lunch and send somebody to pick my daughter up from school every day!!! she is 5 y old now!!!..(conceived naturally!!!)...i just want to be very relax!!!
This cycle is not like the others...I feel more relax maybe because is my 3rd try!!!..but  first time doing 3day...
Do you want to hear something funny?...my doctor told me the day of my transfer the number of embryos he was planning to put...and my husband wasn't there with me (traveling) so when he found out he stop talking to me!!!..frick out about having triplets!!!.....so I have to explain to him...and bla, bla, bla...now he is fine!...we just want to fill our house with kids!!!!
At least we found this forum and we can talk while we wait this 2 weeks!!!

Hi there, new to this thread. I just had my ET on 3/4, Tuesday and in the dreaded 2ww. I also only get my test on 3/17. We have male factor and endo. This is our first IVF cycle with ICSI. We had 4 failed IUI's before this. I only produced 7 follicles (I was suprised, I'm only 30 but  think they started me on very low doses of Gonal-F) the retrieval was worse, The doctor told me he was "dissapointed" they got only 3 eggs! I actually asked him if he looked really carefully! With only 3 eggs, I was really nervous if the didn't fertilize the cycle would be cancelled. Luckily all 3 fertilized and they did a day 3 transfer of one A grade 8 cell and one b grade 8 cell. The third was only 5 cells at days 3 so they tried to get it to blastocyst but it didn't survive. I almost wish they had transferred 3. Now I'm praying these 2 embies make it because I have no frozen ones. What symptoms are you getting on your 2ww? I'm like a gas balloon, it's embarassing. also mild nausea from the progesterone. I'm trying to be on bed rest but it's really hard. Wish all you girls lots of luck and sticky vibes and BFP's!

To: ALL MY GURRRRRRRRLS!!!
WOW...am I glad I came accross this thread! I am 44 and this is my 3rd & last ivf try w/insurance coverage! I am soooooo praying that all 4 of mine stick! ;o) I know...then i'd be looney~tunes, but happy. This time I was well aware of what was what...the other 2 times were a lil' so-so. I've had 2 BFP's(via IUI 42 & 43) and unfortunately, 2 mc's. I've only had 1 5day transfer (11) retrieved, 9(fert) day 3 of transfer 7(perfect-docs words) pushed it back to day 5...only 4 made it (transferred 3 & froze one). I was so upset because I was 42 at that time. It was the most devasting for me. So...I made sure there after I told the RE's that I wanted day 3 trans.

Sorry for the long history...point is...currently...ET (3/4/08) I prayed for 7 retrieved and the RE got "7"...I'm thanking God for this right? Alright next day, nurse calls...great news (I prayed all 7 would be good, but right b-4 I got the call....number "5" crossed my mind right?...nurse said of the 7...5 fertilized and 4 of the five are good. I was so happy. So, 2-8's, 1-5 and 1-9 all on day three. The doc that did the transfer was fantastic. After that ETD starting w/11 eggs and the outcome (which I blamed the doc for...felt he froze up because the number was high (7 were perfect on day 3) I should've insisted my transfer be done that day....have 5 of the 7, but it was my 1st ivf and I was trusting the doc. He went to day five to see which ones were strongest. To me...it wasn't good for my case, considering my age (42 @ that time).

So...back to current...I'm getting there ladies...really. ;o) I did my transfer on Tues. 3/4, but I have to wait until 19 March to get a beta...I'm trying to understand why when everyone else goes so much earlier. I could probably get it moved up to the 17th like one of the ladies on this thread mentioned, but I'll wait it out.

All I have to say is  I am with andykk on putting us out! Boy...if I could be out like I was for my retrieval...that would be nice. Especially if they could keep it at that warm(is this a dream feeling)  & light headed level. ;o) Andykk that was sooo funny...I almost cracked my dome (forhead) on the desk from laughing so hard.

Sarge...CONGRATS!!! I pray that all goes very well for you & baby.
Any of you other ladies in your 40's?...Just curious.

Best Wishes To All of Us...I am definitely down with Miracles and it would be a beautiful one if we all get BFP's and it is NOT impossible. I recommend praying ladies. ;o)

by andykk, Mar 10, 2008 02:10PM
good luck to you all that are waiting...sending the most positive vibes your way!! i know you all deserve the most wonderful BFP ever!!!

I just finished  transfering two grade 2-8 cell embryos on day 3. I am on the long waiting period now for the preg. test. I am a stylist so I work on my feet. I took 5 days off and then I return back to work with a decreased schedule. I have done 4 cycles of in vitro already(2 FRESH,2 FROZEN). This is my 3rd fresh cycle. I am 27 years old. I have been trying for almost 3 years. I am hoping and praying that these embryos will bring us a healthly human being and our journey for a family will begin this year. Keep me in your prayers!!!!!
